Executive Summary
Spin Chips eliminates the persistent discomfort and frustration associated with reaching into an undersized potato chip container. Our customers will appreciate an easyto-access potato chip container with a twistable base that brings the chips upward toward the consumer. These containers are also vacuum-packed until the seal is broken, always ensuring a fresh vessel of chips. Once you experience the ultimate potato chip container and the delightful yields therein, youll never want to go back. Our business is primed to prosper and we have the most up-to-date technologies to aid us in advancing forward. Spin Chips has hired only the finest employees to manage our departments and drive us headlong in todays current market. Our departments are each independently efficient and productive, and have done marvelously in taking our company to the top. Spin Chips is unique because there are no other potato chip containers that offer such innovative and convenient built in attachments like our twistable bottom base. We also offer a colorful variety of flavors, from pickle to original to cheddar cheese. Planning for our companys goals and future customer satisfaction has played a dominant role in our success. We have prepared from the beginning to meet all our of customers needs and wants. Through in depth market research and years of studying we now understand the best strategies and tactics for success. Our uniqueness and customer satisfaction create an unbeatable combination to attract our target audience, and Spin Chips will soon become the number one grocery store attraction. 1

History
In 2013, an 18 year-old medic in training was giving service to an old folks home. He was in the process of creating plush fleece blankets when it came over him. His temper grew into a surge of pure blind fury. Due to his want of chips, he inadvertently found his hand lodged deep within a Pringles can with little chance of escape. Shane Woolston will never forget that day.

Something had to be done about this. He puzzled over how to right this wrong so that men and women will no longer undergo the same fate he did. Nothing came to him for weeks. Agonizing mental struggles ensued, causing Shane to work up quite a sweat one day. Then, in the midst of his perspiration, he realized he had a date in ten minutes. He frantically rushed into his bathroom to apply some deodorant to his body; he took off the cap and twisted the bottom of the deodorant stick. It finally came to him. He canceled his date that night. Shane spent days in his study, mapping out schematics and blueprints for his ingenious discovery. He felt rather proud of himself. He pitched his idea at many entrepreneurial conventions and networked with numerous Venture Capitalists. To 2

Shanes dismay, nobody took him seriously. They saw the idea of a potato chip dispenser that drives out chips through the can with the aid of a twistable base, a ridiculous one. The poor man had lost all hope. On a dreary walk home from the unemployment agency, he saw that a business convention was being held across the street at the Sandy Expo Center. Shane thought that he would give it one last try. This time he caught the attention of two individuals, Josh Hogan and Michael Park. These men were willing to become partners in Shanes company. These men were blown away by the greatness of Shanes idea! So much so, that they immediately joined Shane in the production of his product, Spin Chips. Since then, they have been in business for two months and have started to produce Spin Chips in several factories located in Chicago. This is a company that separates itself from other potato chip companies because they eliminate the hassle of cramming your hand into small containers and the inconvenience of not being able to seal your package back up. The company has hopes of accomplishing Shanes wish, to make chip snacking a less arduous task for individuals around the world.

Vision Statement
The mission of Spin Chips is to make the tough world of potato chip snacking a better one to live in. We know the dangers of small chip containers; we know that they can be hazardous to small children; and we know that our product will eliminate these threats. With the service of the Spin Chips container, the perils of the side effects from potato chip containers are at an all-time low. Our elevator-type design will bring the chips to the customer, instead of the customer going to the chips. This wondrous product appeals to all 3

ages, as long as the people of todays age still enjoy potato chips (Weve done our research, they do).

Service/Product Description
Spin Chips caters to every state, kindred, and tongue in the United States. We provide a service of convenience to our customers. Through our creative and innovative design, we reach out to the people that enjoy more than a snack with a bland package.

Market
The market that Spin Chips will be targeting will typically be teenagers and young adults, ages 13-28. This age group will require fresh and continually updated ideas to keep them interested. Through extensive research we have discovered what makes teenagers and young adults attracted to edible products. We have transformed the regular potato chip can into an alluring and tempting prospect for a potential teenage customer. In the next five years we hope to continue to serve this age group along with multiple others. We expect to continue to expand and adapt to the constant change that young adults and teenager will be seeking, and to continue innovation in order to best serve them and keep them as loyal customers.

Spin Chips is unique because although we have a specific target age group that will be of most value to us, customers of any age can buy our chips, which greatly expands our general market group. With the market the way it is, not having a set, narrow and restricted target group will significantly upturn our success.

Departments
Our departments operate with total efficiency and with ferocious resolve. We put our best people at the heads of these departments to ensure that we have strong foundations.

Sales/Marketing: Our sales and marketing specialists will be the best at what they do.
They will be required to have a degree relating to their job and be of a pleasant and friendly demeanor. They will do research and study market trends while also attending large social gatherings in order to promote our sensational product.

Production:

Despite the seemingly complicated nature of our product, the manufacturing and production is actually relatively simple and inexpensive. This is due to the manner in which it is made, as well as the plastic used and our personal connection to the manufacturer.

Service

We believe in having customer oriented service as you may be able to tell from our product. We expect all those representing us to behave in a courteous and professional manner. Also, because our service technically is a product, we will make certain that the quality of our product remains high and consistent.

Financial:

The financial department handles our budget. They will decide that amount of money that we can realistically put forth. They will also determine the price ranges we will sell our product at. Also, they will be in charge of calculating realistic salary ranges for employees as the company grows. All salary decisions will be finalized with upper level management before taking effect.

Research:

The research department will be extremely crucial to our enterprise. They will be the go-to guys for both the sales/marketing department and the financial department. The research they do will greatly influence the decisions of those other departments.

Purchasing:

Our customers are very important to us. Because of this, we will be sure to implement a customer feedback service. Our customers can 6

use this service to tell us about their purchasing experience and what improvements they would like to see in our product. The Research and Production departments report to the Marketing department, which sends all information to the executives of the company.

Company Strengths
The strengths of our potato chip company are what we utilize to keep us productive and successful. We have three strengths that keep us ahead of the game and that separate us from the other big name competitors out there.

Strength #1
The things that set the trends and that are cool are all established by the younger generation. This plays perfectly into our hands. Our interesting product will take the tweens and teens away from their old potato bags and right into our Spin Chips containers. Goal 1: Our first goal with regards to this strength is not to only have the younger generation more into our product, but to also keep them there. This summer, we will do this by having a team built within our company that will come up with new designs to keep our consumers coming back for more.

Goal 2: Since we will have a new design team, our goal is to come up with new
attractants such as: new flavors of chips, colors on the can, designs on the logo, and insightful messages on all of our Spin Chips products to ensure that our customers will never be bored with our product. Through this, we will keep the customers interest in our merchandise.

Strength #2
Since our product will appeal to young ones due to its one and only design, (they being the people that spread trends), our product will reach the ears of consumers across the nation in a matter of months. This will make our advertising expenses lower than our competitors expenses. Goal 1: Once Spin Chips becomes a thriving business, we wont need the necessary start-up advertising methods such as commercials and billboards. This will save us hundreds of thousands of dollars, and we expect to lower advertising expenses by 25% over the next three months.

Goal 2: We are going to perform a series of systematic studies by surveys and direct purchasing of merchandise to determine the average costs of our rivaling competitors products. With this data, we are going to determine where we should price our merchandises in in order to have a cutting edge over our competitors. We plan to enact this by July, 2013.

Strength #3
Our product will have an edge over all other competitors because of our innovatively designed and unique containers. This is what will grab the consumers attention and keep them coming back for more. 9

Goal 1: Since we see that our bottom base spin design is so helpful in the dispensing of chips, we have also decided that it can be very useful when applied to other kinds of snacks, candies, and consumables. When we are able to incorporate these plans, we can broaden our horizons past the potato chip industry, and into multiple areas in which we can find success. We hope to develop a spin candy by 2015.

Goal 2: Our advanced design in our chip dispensers will surely attract customers; however, we need to keep in our database advanced container concepts that are without flaw. We need to implicate these ideas if such defects do occur in our development by our testing facilities in the production department. We will reinforce the perhaps weak areas in our twist mechanics. If a defect does arise, the problem will be addressed as a top priority and will be solved in no later than a week after it is discovered.

Company Weaknesses
Like any new and rapidly expanding business, Spin Chips has its weaknesses. Weakness may not be the correct term, though, because these imperfections can quickly become some of our greatest assets.

Weakness #1
We are entering a market that already has well-known brands and names. Pringles, Lays, Doritos, Tostitos and Ruffles currently dominate the chip market. Goal 1: In order to turn this weakness into a strength, we have set our product apart from the others to ensure our success. No other chip brand currently implicates our inimitable key to success; the innovation of Spin Chip containers. We understand that the well-known brands safeguard the chip market, and with our distinctive design we can set ourselves apart and overcome our competitors. In two to three years, we plan to be amongst the big boys and we expect to be around second or third place in the chip market at this time. Goal 2: As our competitors continue to develop and expand, we plan to as well. In the next five years, we plan to develop into the largest consumer based business in the chip industry. This coming December, we will reveal our newest chip flavor (yet to be revealed!); which we predict will increase our revenue by at least 10%.

Weakness #2:
Unlike other chip businesses, our creative chip container is going to cost more to construct and manufacture than other containers or bags.

Goal 1: In order to stabilize our revenue and cost from these semi-pricey containers, we plan to up sales by over 15% this summer. Our sales department has three groundbreaking concepts: moving into the candy industry, developing new package designs, and blimp advertising. These will be the key factors in our increase in sales. The more innovative our containers are the more consumers will buy them. The more consumers buy our product the more revenue we will be bringing in, making it all worth it in the end.
Goal 2: Due to our sole design, our product will not even be in the same area

of stores in comparison to competitor products. The only single potato chip product that will be placed near our product in stores is Pringles. As was predicted earlier, we expect consumers to be more attracted to our product over Pringles, giving us the consumer advantage. We predict that this sole asset of our product sticking out will bring in much more revenue than we expect. If we find that consumers are still leaning towards Pringle products, this summer we will initiate an all new consumer based design that will guarantee a sales increase by at least 5%.This extra money alone will neutralize and bring in more revenue than the additional cost of our innovative product.

Weakness #3:
Though our state of the art containers will be revolutionary, consumers might encounter slight issues concerning malfunctions in the design. Goal 1: To eliminate potential defects, our potato chip container will be made with the simplest of components. With this simple design comes simple use, and consumers will find it effortless to use our pioneering container design. There will only be a few simple mechanisms in our design to ensure safe and functioning use. These devices will be implemented in the space of one to three months after we ascertain what can be improved through our consumer based surveys. We will know if we have achieved our improvement goal if we see more than a 5% increase in revenue over the next two to three months. Goal 2: To safeguard continued potential defects, we have instigated a return policy with regard to any of our products. This return policy will be the guarantee on our product, pledging effective and reliable use. Consumers will be able to return any faulty or damaged produce within 48 hours of the initial purchase. After the first month of the newly effective return policy, we plan to receive no more than 5% of returns on all customer purchases. This return policy will be effective during all hours of our operation. 13

Summary

We feel that our business will be successful because the chip industry has never seen anything like our product. We offer a twist, per say, to chip consumers world-wide. We will be prosperous because our budding target group will revel in an easy to use, gratifying, and enjoyable snack. In order to satisfy such a demanding clientele, we have hired only the best. We implement the most current and advanced technology to progress us forward in the chip industry, and keep us on top. We identify our strengths and weaknesses, and we arent coy to execute our pursuits and eradicate our limitations.
