NAME OF THE EXPERIMENT:

IMPLEMENTATION OF CLIPPER CIRCUIT WITH PSPICE

SOFTWARE.

THEORY:

A clipper circuits clips a fraction of its input signal keeping the remaining part of
the signal unchanged. The circuits consists of resistor R , diode D, and external dc
source E.

Figure for positive half cycle:

COMPONENT REQUIRED:
1. PERSONAL COMPUTER.
2. Any version of PSpice software.

PROCEDURE:

1. At first we open the PSpice software on the PC.

2. Then we take and place the GND-EARTH, VSIN, DIODE
(DIN914), resistance R, external voltage V2 in the PSpice plane
from the PSpice library.
3. Next we put the values of VSIN, external voltage, and resistance
R.
4. Then we mark the input and output components with the marker of
different color.
5. Then we save the schematic project and before running the project
we have to put the transient.
6. After all we run the projects of positive half cycle of clipper and
negative half cycle of clipper and found two output for those
input.

DATA:

DC = No need.
AC = 5 v.
VOFF=2v
VAMPLE=5v
FREQ=2Khz
TD = 0
DF = 0
PHASE = 2
Resistance (R1)=1 KΩ
External source(V2)=1.5 volt

Transient:
Print Step = 10 µs.
Final Time = 1 ms.

OBSERVATION:

The above clamper circuit is drawn in the PsPice software as shown in figure:-1 &
figure:-2 and it is observed by our course teacher.

RESULT:
The following output of the above circuit obtain by the experiment.

DISCUSSION:
1.The problem can be solved by oscilloscope, by the lackage of lab facility ,so we
solved the problem by Pspice software in our computer laboratory.

2.The voltage of the supplied current in the laboratory was not unirruptable. So the
output of the problem varies from its original graph.
