Artifact Rational: Educational Achievement Report
Through the process of developing the a Educational
Achievement Report (EAR), I was able to develop competency in the
ability to administer, score, and interpret a standardized, formal,
educational achievement test in order to make appropriate educational
recommendations to promote student achievement. The EAR related to
the Council for Exceptional Childrens (CEC) standards 1,4, and 6.
CEC standard 1: Learner Development and Individual Differences
requires special education professionals to understand how
exceptionalities may interact with development and learning and
use this knowledge to provide meaningful and challenging learning
experiences for individuals with exceptionalities. The potential
impact of differences in values, languages, and customs that can exist
between the home and school has also been accounted for. The
importance of acting ethically in advocating for appropriate services is
made paramount throughout the psycho-educational assessment
process.
CEC standard 4: Assessment requires multiple methods of
assessment and data-sources in making educational decisions.
Assessment was addressed throughout EAR using pre, formative and
summative assessments to diagnose, monitor and document student
progress. I found the highlighted standard to be relevant and in-step
