1. Introduction

This reports contains the results of the survey made by Nicole (Sze Man) Wong and
Richard Verding. We used Google forms to create the survey. As topic we choose
Food at Artevelde. We choose this topic because it is relevant for us as students at
the Artevelde University College. We regularly eat or buy food at the canteen and
were curious about what our fellow students think about the food facilities that are
provided at the campus of Kantienberg. The aim of the survey is to have an insight of
the different opinions, which could be used afterwards in the student council to
improve the quality of the food facilities at school.

2. Method

For this survey we compiled fifteen questions related to the food facilities at
Artevelde University College. We created fourteen closed and one open question. We
used check boxes where students can select more than one answer, multiple choice
questions and evaluation questions where people have to grade the facilities in a
scale from one to five.

3. Results

This is the result of the survey based on the answers from 41 different students.
However, there are only 26 students from the 41 that eat at the Kantiene. This
should be taken into account because the results can vary otherwise.

4. Conclusion

We have decided to pick out the most interesting aspects to discuss instead of the
full report. Out of the first graphs we recommend the Kantiene to keep up with new
variations of food and maybe increase the portions a little bit for all students. More
importantly, we think that there should be a change on the opening hour of the
Kantiene as almost 70% of the student thinks it is too short. This has already been
mentioned in the SRA student council and we hope that there will be a solution
soon. Moreover, in general most of the students are satisfied with the Kantiene. We
have also received responds from the open question. Most of the answers show the
gratitude of having a canteen because in some countries this is seen as luxury.

5. Reflection (what have I learned?)

First of all, we learned how to make a survey. Google form is a convenient and
practical tool to create a survey. It is straightforward and easy to use. The difficult
part was deciding the topic and creating the questionnaire. We had the advantage to
work in pair. This way we could divide the work, check and correct each others
mistakes. We came to the conclusion that people are not enthusiast about filling in
surveys, even if it is a short survey. Nevertheless, when people of your target group
are willing to fill in your survey, you receive a lot of valuable data. Surveys are really
efficient to find out what people think about certain topics.
