    A group of 5 suspects attempted to steal an ATM from a bank in Austin, Texas on March 20th by attaching a chain from their getaway vehicle, a maroon 1990s Chevy Silverado pickup truck, but were unsuccessful. Surveillance video showed the suspects in dark clothing and that the driver remained in the vehicle. Detectives are asking the public for any information about the theft suspects or the described pickup truck.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 31, 2010

    Sheriff’s Detectives Looking For Theft Suspect

    On March 20, 2010, in the early morning hours, Deputies were dispatched to the First State Bank
    at 1620 Grand Avenue Parkway. When they arrived they found the ATM had been damaged.

    Video surveillance showed that a vehicle with 5 suspects attempted to take the ATM by pulling it
    away with a chain attached to their truck. When their attempted theft failed they left the scene
    without the ATM. From their actions it is believed that they may have done this before.

    The vehicle is described as a Maroon 1990’s Chevy Silverado extended cab


    step-side Pickup truck with gray or primer colored hood and a black bug
    guard on the hood.

    The suspects were all wearing dark clothing and the driver
    stayed in the vehicle.
