The berlin wall was made of concrete and wire fences about two to three
meters high. Had signaling system in the floor, which would cause an alarm
to be sounded when touched. The borders between East Germany and West
Germany was heavily defended with fences and mines. East Germans
needed a special permit to live close to the border
After the reunification of Germany in October 3. 1990, the berlin wall was
demolished and taken away. A few sections of the wall remain and became
museum now. One of the sections has turned into one of the worlds biggest
street art exhibitions today.
East Germany differed from the West Germany. As the West Germanys
economic grew, and it standard of living improved, many East Germans
wanted to move to West Germany. The East Berlin police who guarded the
wall was gevin the right to shoot people at the time of fleeing. People were
no longer able to leave. Despite that; people used different ways of escaping
East Germany and entering West Germany by digging long tunnels under the
wall, waiting for the winds and taking air balloons o eliding along aerial wires.
The fall of the berlin wall began on November 1989. People were using
different tool in order to get rid of the wall. After fall of the wall east germany
adopted the West Germany currency, both became united. While; still years
after reunification, people in Germany talk about the cultural differed
between east and West Germans and a specific group of people are unhappy
about the fall of the wall.
