    Recognize and manage personal values in a way that

    allows professional values to guide practice


    Controlling emotions while dealing with clients that
    maybe in a situation that makes you emotionally
    vulnerable.

    2.2
    Make ethical decisions by applying standards of the

    National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and,


    as applicable, of the International Federation of Social
    Workers/ International Association of Schools of Social
    Work Ethics in Social Work, Statement of Principles.
    Protecting clients information, confidentiality and their
    lifestyle is a way in which I abide by this competency.

    Tolerate ambiguity in resolving ethical conflicts
    When I am confused about making the right

    decision, I know I can always turn to my supervisor


    for guidance.
    Discussion of ethical conflicts in the workplace is
    important

    Apply strategies of ethical reasoning to arrive at

    principled decisions
    Example: Treating all clients with respect. Not all
    clients are survivors of DV. Some of them are the
    perpetrator.
