By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation. Learning Standard: 1.1.1 Able to listen and respond to stimulus given with guidance: (g) oral blending and segmenting 1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes or sing songs with guidance. 1.1.4 Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance. Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: 1. Listen to and enjoy participate in jazz chant recitation. 2. Talk about the toys that they like. Activities: 1. Teacher introduces a jazz chant. (refer e-book day 1) 2. Teacher asks pupils to do one action for each of these: boat, robot & hen. 3. Teachers poem aloud and pupils are required to do the action and say aloud the object whenever it is mentioned in the jazz chant. 4. Teacher pastes picture cards of toys on the board, and introduces them to the pupils. (refer flashcards day 1) 5. Teacher asks basic questions about the toys. 6. Teacher uses a bean bag, and throws it randomly to the students. 7. Pupils who catch the bean bag will be asked: - Which toy is your favourite? - Why do you like it?/What colour is it?
