Time Focus Theme Topic Content Standard Learning Standard Listening and speaking World of Knowledge Unit 1 Sounds Around Us 1.1 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling, the pupils should be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation. 1.1.1 Able to listen and respond to stimulus given with guidance: (a) environmental sounds 1.1.4 Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance. Objectives By the end of this lesson, the pupils should be able to: (a) listen to environmental sounds which is the sounds of three animals (duck, frog and cat). (b) respond to the picture stimulus (of the three animals) with guidance from the teacher. (c) cooperate with their friends. Activities 1) The pupils listen to the recorded sounds of a cat, a duck and a frog. 2) The pupils guess the type of animals according to the sounds they heard. 3) The pupils are shown pictures of the animals and then guided by the teacher to say the sound and the name of each of the animals. 4) The pupils are divided into three groups and they are given pictures of the animals. 5) The teacher plays the sounds of the animals and the pupils will stand up if they hear the sound of the animal they represent and say the name of the animal.
