    How to use startup command line switches to start Word 2007

    1 - Start Word with /A


    Start > Run > winword.exe /a
    This bypasses the Normal.dotm the winword.opt (or options registry key)
    and Word’s startup folder.

    2 - Rename Normal.dotm
    The next time you launch Word, it will recreate a new Normal.dotm file
    with default settings.
    Note: macros, autotext, customized toolbars & styles will be lost.

    4 - Temporary Files
    Delete any temporary files and empty the recycle bin.
