Learning Outcomes [ASSURE (State Objectives)]
1. Audience : 4th grade class
2. Behavior: They are expected to identify food and drinks and also differentiate how
many/ much ; there is/are ; countable and uncountable nouns.
3. Condition: The seating will be arranged so that all students will have a clear view of
projection. Students are placed in a U sitting formation where all the students will be
able to hear dialogue clearly.
4. Degree: Quiz, worksheets and surveys are given to students so as to evaluate
knowledge.
Instructional Materials & Media [ASSURE (Select Strategies, Technology, Media and
Materials)]
The teacher will set up the computer overhead projector before the class. Hard copy and
listening materials will be prepared before the class. PPT slides, infographics, video,
flashcards, concept map will be used in demonstration and structuring the grammar and
vocabulary items.

Lecture by teacher, lecture-demonstration by teacher, recitation oral questions by teacher
answered orally by students, student group works, use of slides, surveys ,music;
communicative language learning.
Teaching Activities [ASSURE (Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials and Require
Learner Participation)]
Utilize Technology, Media and Materials: The teacher uses the Web 2.0 Tools such as
Prezi, Bubble. Us/ Popplet, Go Animate and Obsurvey in order to prepare the teaching
materials using before and during the class.
Require Learner Participation: The teacher will allow the students to work in groups of
two. Each student will take turns starting a pattern. Each partner must create at least two
different patterns for their partner to finish or fill in missing terms for.
To assess each individual student, I will hand out a worksheet that involves filling in missing
pieces for patterns or finishing them. The worksheet, quiz and survey will involve patterns
with How many/ much, there is/are and countable/uncountable nouns and food and drink
vocabulary. Each student will be expected to complete the worksheet, quiz and survey on
their own to turn in for a grade.
Individual Learning Activities
Homework, worksheet and handouts.
Summary
The teacher starts to demonstrate flashcards of some food and drinks such as eggs, apples,
carrots, milk, etc. During demonstration, s/he says names of the food and drinks. The teacher
gives a readymade dialogue on a slide. Students come to board and act out the dialogue. The
teacher wants their students to prepare a picnic list. Students note down some food and drinks
and prepare some questions individually. The teacher gives an example of a picnic list on a
Power Point slide to clarify the activity. After preparing their own lists and some questions to
ask , they study with their partners. They ask each other questions. The teacher distributes
handouts and worksheets and working on them in order to identify foods and drinks. He/she
gives a pop quiz including the vocabulary and the grammar points about food and drink.
Finally, he/ she conducts a survey including all vocabulary and grammar points about food
and drink.
Measurement & Evaluation
Working in the cooperative groups will help students to learn the material by interacting with
other students.
-The media used in the lesson provided the students with a visual of what different types of
patterns can look like.
-The teacher will explain to the students that patterns are very important to the topic. The
teacher will also tell them that using dialogues is to visualize a pattern and being able to
create their own pattern using dialogues and flash cards is a great way to show their
understanding of patterns. The teacher will also ask for the students input on whether or not
they liked doing that activity.
