    What business are they in?

    1. They are in the business of connecting marginalized farmers in Bihar and UP directly to the
    vendor in urban areas by cutting out middle-men.
    2. They are also in business of providing refrigerated vegetable carts on rent basis to vendors.
    3. Providing information on price and demand of the farm produce to farmers through
    Kisanganga clubs by employing middle-men as paid consultants.

    Conventional way of doing business: In conventional business vegetables followed the following
    route before reaching the end consumer. High risks were involved in this process as vegetables were
    perishable and so, the farmers as well as the vendor were forced to sell it at lower price.

    What is different about this business?
    The unique factor of this business is that it ventured into making the supply chain of
    vegetables which was until then dominated by unorganized players.
    The customers of vegetables sold by Samridhi (parent company) farmers was assured 100%
    fresh with name of farmer and village written on refrigerated cart.
    They also displayed the name of farmer and his village on refrigerated vegetable cart.


    How do they generate revenue?
    By taking direct commission in the supply-chain as they have cut down six-layered process
    which used to take more than 50% of the margin after selling it to vendors, institutionalized
    setting like restaurants, retail chains, etc.
    By renting rechargeable refrigerated carts to vegetable vendors.
