    Acknowledgements are as brief as possible. They can contain grant or contribution numbers, but not thanks to anonymous referees and editors, or inessential words.

    Author Contributions: authors are required to include a statement of responsibility that specifies the contribution of each co-author.

    Author Information includes a data deposition statement (where relevant), a reprints and permissions statement, a statement declaring competing financial interests (if applicable) and a correspondence line with an e-mail address.
