has found a home in corporate America and is thriving!!! My personal responsibility is very strong and my since of right and wrong is very strongmy GRAY-AREA is EXTREMELY NARROW!!! Government and BUSINESS gray-area is extremely widetheir right & wrong is extremely narrow! I always wondered why in my discussions with management when it came down to right & wrong (noncriminal) that the course of action for their (mgt.) bonuses and promotions was the route always taken. As an example: I work in a repair facility for utility equipment. When we scrap a unit of equipment wed save all the usable parts to fix other units in the future. Then the U.S. I.R.S. decides to tax these parts, management decides to scrap an throw-away these parts instead of paying taxes. Now units arrive that we can fix but have no parts to fix them with and we cant order new parts (for whatever reason) so the units are scrapped and thrown away. Now we have to buy new units at 90%+ the cost of what we could have repaired them for if we had the parts. Needless to say after 27 years-plus (undergraduate degree) with the utility company I keep my mouth shut and do not voice my opinion at the risk of being unemployed. Respectfully,
Emory S. Holloway, Major U.S.A.F. - Auxiliary

JUST SAYIN
I love reading the US Constitution, and have for over 20 years. So I was wondering: where is that part that grants the federal government the power to tell local school systems what food they can feed their children? ~ ROB WATERSON
disintegrate into a cold, repressive near-theocracy. An honest examination of US history should dispel both of these fears: Confront Fear # 1 - Social Security and Unemployment benefits were put into place around 1935 under FDR. Medicare and Medicaid were put into place around 1965 under LBJ. Medicare Part D (Prescription Drugs) was legislated in the G.W. Bush administration, and Affordable Health Care ("ObamaCare") was "legislated" during the last three years. How did the US ever survive without all of these programs from 1776 to 1934? You may think that people were starving in the streets during that people. No doubt a few did then, and still do so today - the poor will always be with us. But in fact, the nation did quite well with people caring for each other voluntarily or out of a sense of family duty. I will even argue that they did so more efficiently and compassionately. Confront Fear #2 - From 1776 to 1960, the US was overwhelmingly Christian - including most elected officials. (Prayer was held in public schools until 1962.) The Bill of Rights was suggested to James Madison by John Leland - a Baptist preacher! The Bible, often cited on both sides of many issues, nevertheless became a driving force in the conscience of the public to eliminate slavery and racial segregation. Dr. Martin Luther King was pastor at Dexter St. Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL. Not many people know that the early leading activists for women's voting rights were pro-life! One can walk around and read Bible excerpts engraved on the older public buildings in Washington, DC and other locations, and see that Bible-believers dominated the national, state, and local governments throughout the nineteenth century. Were the 184 years before 1960 a time of repressive theocracy, where human rights were callously disregarded in favor of priest-craft? No, rather I would argue that religion advanced the cause of reasonable civil rights within the US. These two fears are among those proclaimed and inflamed by leftists, and every US citizen should disregard them. If one considers the shining examples of socialism and humanism - such as Western European nations over the past 60 years, he will find that they have put on a good show for a little time while the US footed their defense bills, but now they are in trouble economically and demographically. The more realistic examples of socialism and humanism (entitlements and suppression of the Bible) are the USSR, Maoist China, Cuba, North Korea and Yugoslavia. And where else will one find more clear instances of harsh living and denial of human rights? We need not fear the warnings leftists so frequently assert to be true - we need to beware the fearmongers themselves. And disregard their teachings.
Society of Handouts
Submitted commentary Mom always told me not to argue with idiots. I need to listen. I deal with facts. I am not afraid to change my view if new data comes in that changes how things are. But I am over the personal attacks by some of these idiots who don't know their history and heritage from their a__holes. Pardon my language. Facts are not emotional. They do not lie. They just are.

So far all my liberal friends can do is attack me personally - they don't have data to use so they make it emotional. Age old ploy. I just hope I don't have to look at them in a few years and say I TOLD YOU SO!!! By then it might be too late for this great country. You can lead a horse to water ... but you cannot make it drink.... so goes it for the voting public. We are a society of handouts now - they aren't thinking about the national debt or how we will pay for these things. Their attitude is that someone should pay but it shouldn't be them. Tax the rich - the ones who are industrial and get off their arses and make something of
themselves. Wonder how the leftist rich will like having all their $$ taken away. I don't wish to live in a socialist
country. I don't.
Why do the liberals attack conservatives for calling Obama a socialist? The American socialist party endorsed Obama. This is not rocket-science.....

Libya attack: GOP goes after the White House, especially Susan Rice
Christian Science Monitor - HTTP://NEWS.YAHOO.COM/LIBYA-ATTACK-GOP-GOES-WHITE-HOUSEESPECIALLY-SUSAN-203641954.HTML As the presidential debates and the election approach, questions about how the Obama administration has handled the attack in Libya that killed the US ambassador on Sept. 11 have taken a harder political edge. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says its a scandal worse than Watergate that the American people have flat-out been lied too, as he put it on Fox News Friday. Eric Fehrenstrom, a senior adviser to Mitt Romneys campaign (also speaking on Fox News), says, President Obama needs to be held accountable for his administration's attempts to mislead the American people about what happened in Benghazi. Rep. Peter King, chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, has called for the resignation of United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice. The broader theme here (and in many other partisan and conservative blog comments) is that President Obama wasnt just unaware of the threat in Libya and its violent outcome, but that he and his administration were purposely untruthful about what happened. The headline on Karl Roves column in the Wall Street Journal this week was Obama's Biggest Opponent Is the Truth. Every day, it seems, he attempts to disqualify his opponent through deliberate and undeniable falsehoods, Mr. Rove wrote. This is only one side of a two-sided coin. The president can't tell the truth about his own record either.
