Quilt Qwazy Queens Blog Hop

What's better than supporting "Worldwide Quilting Day", than with a bunch of "Quilt Qwazy Queens" getting together for sharing and inspiring?
It's a global event, and nothing makes global friends easier to keep in touch with, than the Internet these days!
Marian, bless her heart,  knew that was the case
and rounded us all up for a blog hop.

I've been a "Quilt Qwazy Queen" for over 20 years now, although I've been
sewing for over 55 years! My Aunt taught me how to sew. I'm not really sure just how or why it stuck...
My mom's old Necchi machine hated me.
Every time I sat down with it, the tension went crazy, wadded up thread, coughed and sputtered. My mom, who didn't sew that much at all, would go right over and it would behave like a charm???
I even managed to sew thru my finger and nail with I was a kid.
That blasted needle broke off in 3 pieces in my nail.
We had to go to the Dr to have one of the pieces removed.
I don't think I can remember anything that hurt that bad.

That million pound beast of a machine sits in my basement, taunting me to this day. I'm not sure just why I've kept it...
LOL!

With all those years...comes all those quilts.

Way too many to share.

But I've come to realize just how important sharing is.
Sharing inspires us all and allows our quilts to have a voice.

Recording that voice is the most important.
How many of you take the time to label your quilts?
I, for one stink at it.

And do you document all your treasures?

The Good...

My take of designing!

I love this fusible applique center and just started stitching and
cutting till I had a quilt!
Who needs EQ?
LOL!!
***
The Bad...

Yep, it was bad...Lesson learned, no matter how hard you pull your pieces as you stitch, if they weren't cut correctly, they aren't going to fit together correctly when your done!
My "walk of shame" quilt keeps me humble.
:-)

***
The Ugly...

Heaven knows this is ugly!
It was so much prettier in my mind.
I think it's all that tan and gold.
Let there be a lesson here.
Even if it missed its mark in your eyes, someone is loving it, trust me!
(with the exception of this one, that is)
LOL!!

Seriously though, each quilt has own own story, just like those 3 above. None of which you'd have known, if you hadn't read this.

I've found the perfect solution to document those memories...
 and it's free!

I've blogged about this wonderful program before,
but with Worldwide Quilting Day that just past,
I had to share again.

This FREE program is just incredible.
When you open it up, it looks like this.
All the information and stories, your quilt holds along with photos
documented in one place.
You keep track of names, patterns, sizes, batting types, designer, quilter...
the list goes on.

It builds a summary page, as you add things.
A glimpse into your quilting history.

Best yet, it creates greeting and note cards,
 with your quilt photos.

And continues to tell your story on the back.

Address labels, business cards...

Even full size album pages you can print out!

Did I mention it's free?
I used to be an ambassador for Quilt Album when it was a paid
program and loved it. The only changes are more features and multiple photos of each quilt we can store, with the free version.
Now that just can't be, you say?
Yes, it is.
But don't take my word for it,
you can read all about it and download your copy

They do ask for donations and in honor of Worldwide Quilting Day,

I do hope that you can show them the love,
with a donation for their generosity.
(I am in no way affiliated, just a loyal lover of this program)

Thanks Marion and all of my fellow bloggers.
Go forth and prosper...while your documenting your hearts out!

How would you like to win a fat quarter bundle from

Worldwide Quilting Day

In honor of Worldwide Quilting day, I can't think of anything more appropriate to talk about than what excites me the most...
the upcoming

If your a row by row junkie, like I am, I'm sure you have
seen that they announced the new theme for 2016.
 "Home Sweet Home"
There's a cute video of the announcement

Did you also know that on Facebook, you can
go to your search bar and type in your state, as well as Canada,
along with Row by Row Experience and it will bring up
a specific page just for you!

In Colorado, we have a lot of new shops
joining in on the fun this year.

I've spent a few days snooping...but no sneaky peeks...
:-(
...what I did stumble on, by doing a Google search
are the new fabrics that Timeless Treasures
came up with, for this year.

AND, I found them available
 And, best yet...
on sale at Hancocks of Padacuh.
Oh, did I hear angels singing.
All while my credit card was weeping!
LOL!!!

Check it out

Below is their Fat Quarter pack.
They are "sew" much cuter when you see them in person.
Let me show you ...
(you can click on the photos for closer views)

These houses are so stinkin' cute...

I don't know about you...but free
chocolate and wine at the Quilters Inn is right up my ally!

I just had to show you close up details, of some of them.
Are those door hinges too cute?

Fun brick and cobblestone fabrics

New license plate fabrics.

And this one from last year.
Know how you can tell what year they are????

The selvedge tells it all!
I even love these.
***
Did you know that Island Batik has 2016 Row By Row fabrics too?
Gorgeous coordinating batiks.
These colors are just incredible.
Check for yourself right

Is your mind spinning with ideas, like mine?
I see adorable wall quilts. New valances in my sewing room, machine covers, pin cushions, loads of accessories...

Now, I may or may not
have had a little hand, in a wee part of the fun this year.
;-)
But, I spoke with our state co-coordinator last week and her word is final...
NO SNEAK PEEKS
Nothing can be shown till June 21st.
Rats!
That's like...2 months away.
Yes, seems like an eternity...
What can we do, but wait?
Happy Worldwide Quilt day to all!

PSSST......
I just found more of the Row by Row fabrics
at B-Right-On quilt shop in Brighton Colorado.
If your lucky enough to live close, all their fabrics are on sale
for $8 a yard til the end of April.
Whoo hoo!
(not including extra wide backs and minke)

:-)

Creative New Quilts and Projects Blog Hop

Welcome to our Creative New Quilts and Projects
blog hop.

You've heard the buzz...
Wendy Sheppard and Landauer Publishing
have teamed up to bring us a great new book.
It's a must have, for our libraries...
Island Batik and my fellow ambassadors
have come together to show you just how fabulous,
the projects are!
;-)

I know Wendy was speaking directly to my heart,
when she created this project!

Care For A Cuppa!

My day doesn't start without a cuppa...
OH who am I kidding? It's more like the entire pot!
LOL!!

Grab your favorite cuppa and join me.
***
For my version, I chose to go with "Island Batik"

Don't you just love these rich colors?

There is just something about the way they package their fabrics.
This "Stack" (10" squares) make my mouth water!

Care For A Cuppa MooseStash style!
:-)
I have to tell you, I'm in love with this quilt pattern!
The directions were clear and easy to follow.
This book is great for those who love to collect
those fabulous precuts, but doesn't limit you to them.
There are directions for cutting from your stash as well.
The projects are great for quilters of all levels.

I do have to give a little "shout out"and a big thanks to my friend
JoAnn, who lives 2 hrs away. I finished piecing this the day before
 I broke my wrist.
Getting it quilted was just not going to happen...
She made 2 trips to my house to get it finished for me.
She quilted it then realized that there was no way I would be
able to bind it, so back she came for binding fabric.
Yes, the postal service would have worked, but then I wouldn't
get to see her smiling face!
:-)

The quilting is so much fun.
She really knows how to play.

"SEW" if your loving this book as much as I do...
I've got 3 ways you can get your very own copy.

You can purchase it right

or
if you can't wait for it to be delivered, you can
purchase a PDF download of it right

or
if you would like a signed copy, you can email Wendy at

Thanks to Landauer Publishing, I get to give away a book
to one lucky person who leaves a comment on this post.
Tell me if your a "precut" collector or if you prefer
to cut your own, and where you live.
I will be picking my winner Friday March 25,
the last day of the hop.

For this one, you must live in the USA.
This book will be drop shipped, directly from Landauer.
We must be able to reach you.
Check to see if your a no-reply blogger.
;-)

Thanks so much to Wendy Sheppard,
