A sweet historical fiction story for 3rd - 8th graders. It takes place during WWII in England, when one million children were evacuated from London to the countryside for their safety. This story of 3 orphaned siblings will touch your heart. I loved the librarian! And kids, after you read this, enjoy The War That Saved My Life and The War I finally Won series by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. And adults read, Secrets of a Charmed Life by Susan Meissn ...more

This was truly an extraordinary story. I was glued to the author reading it or when I silently read chapters before sleep. There is so much to discuss….bullying, kindness, forgiveness, love, family, God’s will, faith, friendship, and more. Lots of great quotes as well…this one could start a good discussion for sure.
