I related to the wandering Ishmael in search of his adventure, and howled when he met Queequeg, his surprising, pipe-smoking, and tattooed "bunk mate". Unfortunately the book's tone changes drastically when the Captain Ahab character is introduced. I will probably finish the book, but at a crawl. Too bad the first part of the book isn't just packaged separately. It has lots of good lessons on diversity and acceptance. I did find the recent news interesting that, "An all-white killer whale has been spotted in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula in what experts believe to be the first sighting of its kind."
