I'll swap out one of my books so you can take "the" for your Dickerson book.
And we'll use Cress for the M in "my."
Does that work for you, Tiffany?
And we'll use Cress for the M in "my."
Does that work for you, Tiffany?
For example, if I were posting The Sea Before Us, I would say...
Letter: T (first one in "that")
That way, we're keeping to what letters are assigned/chosen by people and won't have any overlap or wasted letters.
What do y'all think?
Melanie said each of our letters fills in ALL of that same letter, so we only list the letters we're using. I'll still keep track in the tracker post, so we each know which letters we're claiming for each book used.
Sure thing! I'll keep track of the words in the tracker post, capitalizing the letters the books work for after the book title and author name. That way, it'll be easy to reference if anyone forgets which letters from which words they have (and it's easy to copy/paste too).
Example: The Piper's Pursuit by Melanie Dickerson (THE)
See previous about the adjusted rules.
Okay, so everything just changed. Any letter we finish fills in ALL the ones of that sort in the verse (but claiming words don't do that, I think).
I'll relook at our claimed books and see what this does for us.
I'll relook at our claimed books and see what this does for us.
All right. So our available letters (after claimed books to this point) are V and K.
We may go ahead and read for verse two, which I'll add to the bottom of the tracker, and save the reviews for when we move on to that verse (after finishing the first verse).
So before you post your books, please make sure you're posting only for our current verse and not a still-to-come one. And please double-check which letters your book is working toward (as noted under your name and by the title of your book in the tracker) so we don't overlap other books our teammates are also working on.
And when Bess and Monica chime in, I'll see if there are letters I can give from my own books for the current verse, if that's needed, as I'm okay saving my reviews for a future verse as needed.
We'll learn as we go, folks, as usual. :)

I can give up a few letters also if someone has a book that needs a home in the puzzle that will be finished by Sunday. 😋
Uh, okay. I'm not sure this makes sense to my work addled mind. So, I'll tell you the books I'm reading and go from there. :)

Bess, here's where your first four books fit.
Verse one (our current puzzle)
Waterfall by Lisa Tawn Bergren (W)
The British Brides Collection by Kelly Eileen Hake, Gail Gaymer Martin, {and others} (K, G)
(We really needed that K and G! So please be sure to list Kelly Eileen Hake and Gail Gaymer Martin when posting your review.)
Verse Two (hold these reviews until we're on the second puzzle)
Cry of the Raven by Morgan L. Busse (C, O, R, L)
The House at the End of the Moor by Michelle Griep (A, E, G)
Verse Three (hold until we're on Puzzle Three, but you may go ahead and read them, of course)
The Chisholm Trail Bride by Kathleen Y'Barbo (T, Y)
The Fifth Avenue Story Society by Rachel Hauck (F, A, S, R, H)
When you post your reviews, the letters in parentheses are the letters you're claiming for us for those verses we're on. Does that make sense?

Bess, I went ahead and put your last two books in your list on puzzle three. Feel free to read all of the books whenever. Just remember to hold reviews until the correct puzzle is being worked on. Happy reading!
Glad to help, Bess.
I'm also glad Melanie and I chatted a couple of things out last night, which helped me better understand how the game works.

Monica, I've placed Treasure Island (for letters T, I, S) in puzzle two and Home: A Memoir of My Early Years (for letters M, O, E) in puzzle three. Please hold these reviews until we are on the appropriate puzzle (meaning, don't post them in our review thread until we're on the correct puzzle for them). I'll make note of when our puzzles switch over.
I have put From Sand and Ash in a "saved for later" section, because the letters don't work right for our currently known puzzles. As soon as we finish a couple of these, I'm sure we'll get more, and that book will be the first one placed, if the letters work right.
Happy reading, Team Deborah! We're doing great to have nearly all three of our first batch of puzzles figured out. The available letters are listed right below each respective verse in the tracker thread if anyone wants to see what's available to help choose their next books. Great teamwork, y'all!

Tiffany, that's great! Please edit your review post to be for letters T and M. (We'll move Cress to a future verse, as Piper's Pursuit works for the M the other book would have done.) Remember we have our claimed letters in parentheses in the tracker thread for reference of which letters to request when posting our reviews so we don't overlap books for the same letter. This will help us stay organized. Thanks! Keep up the great reading!
Note: Cress will have to wait until at least our fourth verse, as there are no available Cs or Ms until then. You may read it now, but please hold the review post until the appropriate verse comes up.

Thanks, Melanie! So glad you allow us to reread some old favorites.
How's the reading coming this weekend, gals?
I should have my round one book done today.
Here's an update of what we need for round one:
Andrea - The Joy of Falling by Linsday Harrel (J, O, L, H)
Hannah -
The Armourer's Prentices by Charlotte Yonge (A, Y)
Enchanted Isle by Melanie Dobson (E, I)
Bess -
Waterfall by Lisa Tawn Bergren (W)
The British Brides Collection by Kelly Eileen Hake, Gail Gaymer Martin, {and others} (K, G)
IF anyone has trouble with their book being slow or something, let us know if you want/need help covering a letter in any round. We can always bump that troublesome book out a round or two if that becomes needed.

All the letters for round two have been claimed, as we moved Hannah's Nicole Deese book to round two for N and D.
