J.J. McAvoy has created Mr & Mrs Smith meets Goodfellas in this brilliantly done novel. Ruthless People is one of my favorite reads of 2014!!! I'm a tiny bit ashamed of myself in saying this but, I totally rooted for the MC's and their ruthless, crazy, insane murderous ways!!

What's this book about:
Liam Alec Callahan, is about to be the Ceann na Conairte, head of the Callahan Irish Mafia. Liam has it going on ladies: smart, charismatic, handsome, dominating, and a voice that will melt your panties off. Of course, he's a man that will kill anyone who dares to get in his way or hurt his family! There's only a tiny stipulation, which he's known about since he was fifteen, Liam is arranged to be married to the daughter of the Italian mafia, Melody Nicci Giovanni. Liam is about to meet his match in every way.

Melody Nicci Giovanni, daughter of the head of the Italian mafia, has a wee bit of a secret. She's not a meek, quiet, stepford wife and will NOT let some man tell her what she can or can not do. Melody has been the Boss for quite some time now while her father, Orlando Giovanni, fights to stay alive long enough to see his daughter get married and his mafia family merge with the Irish Callahan mafia. What could go wrong, right?

Buckle your seatbelts because you're in store for quite a ride!! From the moment Liam & Mel meet, things are not boring!! Liam attempts to put his wife-to-be in her place but of course Melody will have none of that.

He brushed his thumbs over my lips. "The moment the ink touched that fucking paper, you were mine. Mine to fuck. Mine to fucking command, and mine to put in your fucking place."

"First", I said, pressing into his neck, "get used to this position, because you're my bitch, not the other way around."

I loved the easy banter between these two. When they weren't fighting, their fucking was sizzling hot. Fighting for Liam & Mel was some new form of foreplay. The fights these two would have had me envisioning Mr & Mrs Smith while LMFAO at the same time.

They say the first year of marriage is the hardest. For Liam & Mel, it is filled with challenges from a competing mafia family, a new police commissioner who is hell bent on cleaning up his city, betrayals, and of course, murder. The action in this book is fast paced and you will not want to join real life until you've read the very last page.

Yes....there is a bit of a surprise at the end but I didn't think it was earth shattering. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!!
