did not like it
bookshelves: annoying-heroine, alphaholes

** spoiler alert ** Doesn't anyone have any original ideas anymore? Is it just me? I kept getting this sense of déjà vu like I read this all before but it's because I have...

I'm so sick of the damaged boy always being sexually abused (did anyone else think of Gideon Cross or was it just me?) or the fact that they communicate through song (maybe you thought of Remington Tate?) or it could have been the fact that he had a horrible mom who let him go hungry only to later be adopted by a wealthy couple (but I think it already happened to Christian Grey didn't it?).

At the end of the day this story was nothing more than a remix of a remix of an original.

★ Larissa ~ book crusher ~ I actually completely agree with this.

Rani I agree. Thought the same things while reading the book, but I really enjoyed it anyway.

Kourtney Bogle-stoliker I thought so at first but their relationship seemed different to me & there were so many parts that made this book it's own and much more deserved story. It bypassed the 'originals' for me. :) Like a great song, sometimes you need a remix that's even better.

Jinx If the book was good enough to stand alone with the bits and pieces of the story that made it it's own then what was the purpose of possessing story lines that belonged to other books? My problem was never with the story itself as much as it was with the similarities of books I had already read and enjoyed. The purpose of reading a book is for the newness of it not re-reading something that I've already read. ;)

Sarah Agreed

Sarah And so many lines that I've read before.

Holding breath didn't know I was holding

Sharp intake of breath at the sight of him

Grabs my upper arm

You are "mine"

Goes on and on and people using songs in their books. It's annoying

Beth Evant I so totally agree. I really thought the first book was a remix of everyone else's story. I thought the second book was better but still a remix.

Jillian Garman Ok...I really need to know before I start this trilogy...is there cheating? I can understand drama and misunderstanding but not the cheating..

message 9: by Jinx (new) - rated it 1 star

Jinx No, no cheating. Just a guy who relentlessly chases a girl until they find themselves in an all consuming relationship.

Jillian Garman Is it worth the buy? I'm having mixed feelings from what the reviews say...

message 11: by Jinx (new) - rated it 1 star

Jinx Um... Well that depends how do you feel about re-reading someone else's work? Because this book shares quite a few similarities belonging to other books.

Suzanne I'm so happy to see others who feel the same as me :)

*MariaA* any being unfaithful thing in this series??

message 14: by Jinx (new) - rated it 1 star

Jinx No. Not at all. Some miscommunication but that's about it.

Jinx LMFAO. No you weren't. The similarities are too obvious to anyone who is an avid book reader, which we clearly are.

*MariaA* Jillian wrote: "Ok...I really need to know before I start this trilogy...is there cheating? I can understand drama and misunderstanding but not the cheating.."

same with me, simply cannot stand the cheating!!

*MariaA* Jinx wrote: "LMFAO. No you weren't. The similarities are too obvious to anyone who is an avid book reader, which we clearly are."

yup, its like reading the same stories again n again with different names!

*MariaA* hey whats all this him banging tawny abt..im literally in tears here when he says "I fucked Tawny"..i thought there was no cheating here???? Help me out here dear!!

Jillian Garman He's lying...keep reading. :-)

Bloody Roller Coaster here man!!! *clutch my heart*..what is Bromberg tryin to do here, give a stroke!!

Dianna Little love the book loved the series..read the other book you say are similar and these are nothing like them..there are only so many words you can use to describe a situation so yeah the words will be similar. this is the first one where rich guy doesnt throw all his money at the girl and the girl has a strength that lets her say no.. i really believe that everyone should read books for themselves and make the decision on if they want to read or not you might be surprised that you really liked it, this book and series is amazing

message 22: by Jinx (new) - rated it 1 star

Jinx He actually did throw his money around. He threw it at her when he bid for a date with her and then again when he offered to donate money to her charity as long as she was the one to work with him exclusively. And although she told him no and resisted for a while she eventually said yes like they always do.

I have read these books and IMO this book was a carbon copy of so many others which my review clearly states. If you don't like it fine... Write a review that encourages others to read it but the purpose of my review was to state my feelings not yours or anyone else's.

Lelyana's Reviews He was like Gideon and Christian Grey in one man..LOL..

even her best friend and all the other woman all the same...roll eyes

Just finished Driven, and I felt like I'm wasting my precious time.

Susan I agree with you, this books keeps on reminding me of christian Grey and the Crossfire series. I also got tired of reading the same fight or drama over and over. how many time is Ry going to keep on saying "I’m so fucking done"?

Metris okay it's not just me..i haven't read book 2, but book 1 i was like really ?!!!! and what makes it so bad is that the other uses the same phrases. ughhhhh

message 26: by Arya (new) - rated it 1 star

Arya Totally agree. But the "scene" (Superman, batman ironman & all the avengers ) was so descriptive.

and the nightmares (bared to you), adopted in a wealthy family (50 shades) and the classic I DONT DO ROMANCE , hahaha

As you said, this is a remix of remix.

We need new storylines and no more abused childs. That´s a heavy topic that nobody wants to see in a "romance novel",

message 27: by Mali (new) - rated it 4 stars

Mali Chorky ...and never ending "ripping panties"!! Is there a book where a girl have all her panties in the end?
I am 28 and never experienced nothing similar!! So is it a book syndrome or am I missing something??

message 28: by Jinx (new) - rated it 1 star

Jinx It's definitely a book syndrome which I think originated in the book Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren. I think all Heroine panties were safe until that book came out and made it thing. =D

message 29: by Tina (new) - rated it 1 star

Tina Great review, at one point I just wanted to give up and stop reading. This was the only book I read and won't continue.

message 30: by Dimpho (new)

Dimpho I thought the exact same thing. Its combination of all those books....

message 31: by Cherryl (new) - added it

Cherryl Then write your own story 🙄😒😜
