☂️| 'look after you' by the fray is johnnyshannon's song and THEIR song alone. anyway this book has gotten me very off kilter and some people might say 600 pages is too long. which it CAN be. but in this case, ITS NOT and i need more of their story!! im so invested now. ya'll i get the hype and im glad i went in with an open mind. this is why i love starting new series, the found family gets me every time and now i can yap about it with everyone 😚 jonathan and shannon, i love you sm.

my thoughts | overall i enjoyed this! surprisingly it was easy to get thru, and year it may not have the biggest plot, but it's 100% character driven!! which i appreciate 🥹 the only this is that i wouldn't recommend this to everyone yk? like i can see why this series is not for everyone !!! it honestly just depends on your booktaste to see if this will be a hit or miss. SOOO, if youve been eyeing this book, GO FOR IT. im sure johnnyshannon will capture your heart like they did with mine! be ready for a deep, raw, emotional, angsty love story! with some humor, of course, thank you gibsie babe 🤭💗

side note - keep in mind that this series is classified as YA/ new adult! so no, this is not TSITP level of ya, but more mature/upper YA 🫶 plus, our mcsc are between 15-17 so it does make sense, but there are some deep and sensitive topics discussed so please beware! and i appreciate the author putting a warning in the beginning. ANYWAY-

shannon please protect this girl at all costs or i will sob. i really liked her character tho!! and the growth at the end>>> (meaning she was able to open up and be more confident) im so happy she had claire (and lizzie...) ofc johnny + all his friends, and her big brother joey ❤️‍🩹🥹 i cant wait to see her again soon and i hope she gets away from her parents :( also she loves reading. shan, we are one of the same ily 🫂

johnny AHH i love how hes #13!! anywhos, i liked him too, the things he did for shan>> icl, he was a bit, hmmm whats the word? questionable! during the first like 200 pages, but after you get thru that you'll be fine, and probably love him. i feel like hes also very relatable sports wise !! and i like that about him ❤️‍🩹 and also the way he just loves so deeply, hes perfect for shan. im ecsatic to read his pov again !!

side characters OUUUU I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH mostly claire!! ugh shes such a girl's girl. i love her relationship with shan and i NEED to see her and gibsie tgt. AOFIE??? OH THIS GIRL, I LOVE HER SO MUCH and i only saw her for like 10 pages :( i adore her sm as well. and joey :( no one deserves him hes TOO GOOD protect him too ☹️(expect for shan + aofie ofc) and gibsie>> his bromance with johnny is HILARIOUS, we all need the humorous friend like him. but i have a feeling there's some emotional baggage to him as well 🫂

(view spoiler)[ AHH OKAY so i loved the scene from when johnny was in the hospital it was so funny. the boom boom boom scene was everything and he was saying was making me LAGH OUT LOUD. also everytime shan was at his house sparks literally flew 🥹 imagine having your crush just drive you around, taking you to his house. I SWEAR THIS ONLY HAPPENS IN BOOKS. also when johnny stood up to bella AND ronan for her, i actually went crazy im so proud of him <3 OVERALLL THERE WERE SO MANY GREAT SCENES, but mostly when johnnyshan were tgt. and the ending?? criminal i actually sobbed. i thhink we all did. :( (hide spoiler)]

bottom line i loved this, and i want to shout out to all the girlies who hyped me up and let me rant to them!! i seriously enjoyed it and i wanna see them all again real soon <3 I(maybe in january! k13 is VERY anticipated for me, im thinking it could be a 5 star contender 🤭 and shout to my bff, ivy i had a WONDERFUL time br this book with you and ill miss it so much :( i love you sm and i hope we continue to enjoy this series with the amazing characters they have <3 yall GO SPAM HER REVIEW!!
