it was amazing

Hey there book lovers! It is your old pal, Ninetoes, coming to you from Ninetoes Loves Books Headquarters. Today, I have for you a review of Suzie Lockhart’s Dastardly Damsels I have coffee in my system, and my thinking cap on, so let’s get to it!

I grew up in a household of women. Mom and Dad divorced, and I moved down south with Mom and her friend and my sister to be closer to my grandparents. Within a year of that move, my grandfather died, making me the only male in the house. I say this because growing up the way I did gave me a greater appreciation for what it means to be a man and more importantly a gentleman. The men in this anthology could have used some of my lessons growing up.

Dastardly Damsels is an anthology where the males are reprehensible. Seriously, if I had witnessed any of their shenanigans, I would have stepped in. The women in this book would not have needed me to do so. Oh, these women are far more capable of taking care of business, and they do.

Each story in this book is as different as its author. The genres vary from psychological suspense to steampunk to outright horror. As different as they are, they all have the same thing going for them: The damsels in each story come out on top, and the men get what’s coming to them, sometimes in spectacular fashion.

The best compliment I can give this one is my mother-in-law would have loved it! This anthology is perfect for fans of Fern Michael’s Sisterhood series, of which my mother-in-law was a huge fan, and I bought her every book!

I give this book 4.5 bookmarks out of 5!
