Not good

I had hoped as the story progressed that the writing would too. It hasn't.
A whole lot of nothing happened in this book. It's not until the end of it that the revelations from the previous book are even touched on.
Max and Bryce speak slightly more in this book than they have in any of the others, and she's hugged him now but is still full of blushes and silence for the majority of their interactions.
Things happen just to happen. The bad guys get away in a ridiculous manner. Max is left alive for no good reason after interacting with a supposedly powerful demon.
All of the dialogue is stiff and jarring.
I was hoping to finish this series out, but I just can't do it.
