2.5⭐️ engaging and fast paced but the thriller part/plot twists were just all wrong and didn't make any sense
I fear a more detailed review would give spoilers... *deep sigh* the twists in the epilogue had me shocked when I first read them but then I was like no way, the math doesn't make any sense. Was she really 15 and was he also 15 teaching her English in high school??????? And was the shoe store attendant a kid with a wife and kids and had access to a designer shoe store and could pick shoes up and send them to his girl everyday???????
Too many inaccurate plot holes 😭 and I was not thrilled. I just felt like I was being lied to the whole time.

Fair review lovely and super interesting valid points! Sorry, it didn't work for you and hope your next read is tonnes better! This author doesn't work for me either.

Jay never says anything about a wife. It’s just a woman who asks when he’s coming home and there’s a baby in the background. Eve assumes it’s his wife. That part doesn’t make sense because shouldn’t she know him from school? They would have to see each other even if he’s not in her class. Eve and Nate’s age difference was 8 years I think so he could have been teaching there when she was 15, he’d be 23.
after i finished this book i was so confused like i didn't understand what happened and i'm still confused whenever i see a review of this book

Jay is a student at the school and at the end of the book he says that is his nickname and that he works at the shoe store so they were both being intimate with children
YES. All this. Couldn’t agree more and was so bummed by the final plot twist-at first I thought it was a really fun twist that I didn’t see coming but then when I thought about it…the fact that she was a teacher having an affair with a student at her school that she simply didn’t know/recognize does NOT check out
See I think that Eve could very well have not known who Jay was. My kids school has 4 thousand high school students.
This book would have been so much better if she didn’t add the part at the very end with her and Jay. That ruined it for me. Also I had to roll my eyes when she escaped.
Eve was 29 at the beginning of the book and turned 30. Nate was 38, so he was 9 years older than Eve. That would make him 24 when he met Eve at 15.
Eve is almost 10 years younger than Nate. She was 15, so he had to be like 23-24 (and her teacher, of course). So the fact that her parents hated him makes all the sense in the world when you finish the book lol
Nate is older than Eve. By 8 years. As for the Jay twist, yeah totally agree. Nothing ads up at all.
Her not knowing “Jay” is just weird, if he was as good of a football player as it was made out to be, she HAD to know of him. Also who was the “she” Eve kept referring to? His mom?
Jay at the shoe store was actually talking to his mother who was taking care of his younger sibling. It made it sound like a wife but it was his mom. I do agree that if he was a star football player, Eve must have known him or heard of him. How could she not know her love affair lover was a high school kid??
