3.5 ⭐

This story is told from multiple points of view so as the reader you have a birds eye view of exactly what's going on. You alternate between Addie, a troubled teenage Caseham High student, and Eve Bennett, the school's strict math teacher and wife of the handsome and beloved English teacher Nathan Bennett.

Addie was rumored to have had a student-teacher affair with a much older teacher who was fired due to these rumors and everyone around her starts looking at her differently. Addie loses her best friend in the process and begins to get bullied by the popular girl in school.

When Eve learns that Addie is in one of Nathan's classes for the new school year, she has an unsettling feeling that something terrible is about to happen. She does not trust Addie and will do anything to protect her husband.

You will enjoy this domestic thriller if you dont mind reading about:
👠Age gap relationships
👠Power imbalance between student-teacher
👠SHOES. Eve has an obsession with designer heels
👠 Poems. Bad poems.

In true Freida fashion, there was one big twist I did not see coming at the end. Was it necessary though?? I honestly didn't think so. But I still read this book in one sitting and it kept me entertained throughout the entire book. However, this felt more like a classic domestic thriller compared to Freida’s usual style of eccentric characters and wonky storylines.
