did not like it

DNF. Sage and her sister are really really annoying, & the plot is just ridiculous.

I don’t even know where to start as it’s so bad. The plot is all over the place. Shootouts with loads of baddies, again, then nothing happens. Do the baddies just give up when they realise Fortress is involved?? There’s a lot of investigating everyone that Sage and her sister knows. Including their father. There’s a really weird scene with Brody and Sage. As he describes how her father might have plotted to have her killed. WHY?? JUST WHY WOULD HE SAY THAT?? Brody grew up with Sage and knows her dad. Yes investigate him, but don’t go through a whole scenario of wanting Sage dead. 😡😡😡 Out of all the books I have read, that is one of the weirdest paragraphs I’ve ever read!

Safe and Brody grew up next door to each other. They have both had feelings for each other, but for whatever reason neither have acted on them. Brody has never dated anyone as he’s so in love with Sage. 😂😂😂 He’s nearly forty and he’s never dated anyone?? At all??? This author has some weird ideas on what men are like!!! He would have either moved on and dated other women, or strapped on his ba*ls and spoke to Sage about his feelings. Seeing as they speak on the phone all the time!!

Anyway back to the sort of plot. When Sage is attacked in her house, and someone is murdered in her house, Sage is accused of doing it! The police interview her for hours as they suspect her, yet Sage was unconscious on the floor! IT JUST DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE!! This author seems to really dislike the police, and writes them all as stupid and inept.

After a gripping beginning, and Sage and Brody declaring they’re dating, it drones on and on. With nothing happening except Poppy (Who is Sage’s sister.) being a total bi*ch all the time and Sage just goes along with it. Then the plot takes a weird turn and it just gets silly.

So after me persevering through pages and pages of monotony, it gets really silly!!! I couldn’t finish it, and I don’t even care who the baddie is. Though I’ve got a strong suspicion who it is.

One final note. Why does this author write about people agreeing to date, as though they are teenagers? In every book, the man asks the woman if she’ll date him, then the team celebrates like they’re getting married! It’s beyond weird. With the men cheering like he’s proposed!
