A solitary, chain smoking woman who works as a cook on a merchant ship, falls in love immediately with Samsa
when she meets her at a port along the way.
She abandons life at sea to live with Samsa (who has nicknamed her Boulder) in a pretty, little yellow house
They are quite happy for about eight years until Samsa wants a baby..
Then Boulder sees that three is a crowd as Samsa loses interest in her.
It’s quite a sad story really.

Bianca I appreciated the different, unsweetened, unapologetic nature of the main character, it was kind of different.
