Honeymoon for One was such cozy read. A funny and witty holiday romance story between Robin and Neve. It may have a lighthearted enemies to lovers facade but this story has other trauma up its sleeve to pull at your heartstrings.

Although the book is supposed to be a romance, the emotional pull for me came from the dysfunctional relationship the main characters had with their mothers. One mother was just plainly negligent while the other had narcissistic tendencies. Such potent ingredients for a healthy adult progeny.

I needed a sure palate cleanser for my consecutive heavy, serious reading so naturally I picked a Rachel Bowdler book. She hasn’t disappointed so far!
