it was ok
bookshelves: disappointments, poetry, short-and-sweet

“there was something safe in joking about what we truly wanted.”

This collection of poems is centered around love and lust. It looks at jealousy, loss, sex, decision making, and other human emotions that all surround relationships. I wasn’t sucked into the words, but there were good thoughts here. I really don’t understand the titles and sections, as most were named after vegetables. Not sure what the point of that was or how it connects to the themes. The themes didn’t feel organic and original, but repetitive and tired after halfway.
