This book provides insight into the reasons we wrongly predict what will make us happy. Our brains are complex, and due to the way we process information, we end up doing things that run against our ability to sustain the pleasure we derive from them. For example, many people desire material things that will not, once achieved, continue to provide the same levels of satisfaction. The author explains why this occurs (and much more) by recounting the results of psychological studies and humorous examples. I tend to enjoy books that explain more about how our brains work. I found it fascinating.
