Run Away (Jon Stanton #8)

Once again Mr. Methos writes a very entertaining novel with fully fleshed-out characters and believable storylines. I'm now on to the next Detective John Stanton book (#9). Stanton's complexity has grown substantially over the life of the series as his inner demons and wrecked family life fight with his strong Mormon beliefs. Add to that his insights into both himself and his cases based on his education (he holds a PhD in psychology) and you have a pretty unusual lead character. If you like procedurals and private-eye novels, you will enjoy this one. Better to have read up to this one with the prior stories, but not necessary as Methos slices in background quite seamlessly.
