Yes, they're all about different people, but people from the other novels make appearances. The main stories always follow the next person on the Wheel. I wouldn't say it's a cliffhanger really, just the anticipation of following the next person and furthering the overall story. Amara's story is mostly wrapped up. Hope that helps!
