ah! not me starting another series when i have so many others i need to finish. 🙈
but this is an exceptionally quick read. if the subsequent books have the same fast pacing and easy-to-read writing, i may actually try to finish this series soon. the content is also quite entertaining. there are a lot of similarities between this and ‘avatar’ - different regions are able to control one of the four elements with the MC being the last person being able to manipulate wind/air and only her abilities can help stop a war. but there are also enough unique components to make the story its own.
the only thing i wanted more of is the bond. you know i love a romance that blooms due to a forced connection/proximity and the bond totally makes that possible. but its only mentioned, like, twice and not even really utilised. dont be shy - give the MCs a feyre/rhys level kind of bond. they (and readers) deserve it.
regardless, this is a great start to a series and i feel tempted to pick up the next book very soon.

Honestly this and the next 5-book series that follows are all pretty quick and really satisfying to read! I'm waiting to start on the 3rd installment of the world, which doesn't seem to be directly linked to the characters from the first two installments, but will probably be as good!

I’m so glad u reviewed this book! I started reading it but I wasn’t really feeling it, I think I was in a really bad reading slump, but with this review I’ll definitely give it another shot!!
I loved this series!! Literally read it in 5 days, each book only gets better. Hope you liked this as much as I did and happy reading! :)
Definitely recommend reading a trial of sorcerers after reading this series, takes place in the same universe and the author just released it this year, the sequel hopefully will be released next year!
diana - there are so many other series that i dont know where to go next! do i do the 5 book series that comes next chronologically? or the 3 book prequel series with characters i already know and love. and then theres the other spin-off series that sounds amazing! there are just too many to choose! hehe.
surry - ohhhh, i cant totally understand how this book might not be the best option for someone who is in a reading slump. hopefully it just wasnt the right time and you will enjoy this the next time you pick it up! :)
victoria - yay! so happy to hear you loved this! i have a feeling i will love the rest of the series, as well. and i actually only picked this up because i wanted to read 'a trial of sorcerers' and found out its a spin-off of this series/world. so i felt like i needed to go in order. lol.

So I totally recommend reading The Golden Guard Trilogy before Vortex Visions. Then Trial of Sorcerers last. I loved all the books!
Loved this book! I agree on the bond part! Didn’t even think about all the similarities to avatar. Can’t wait to read the next!
