El prisionero del cielo

Simply Zafón. As usual, I hated his nonsensical but apparently deep sentences. His style is sloppy, but makes for a quick read. However, he has improved greatly on characterization (Fermín is the best in this book). Everyone, including minor secondary characters, has their own voice, which is something I greatly appreciate. If you already like his books, this one won't be an exception, but it doesn't advance the greater story of Daniel Sempere. It is a bridge book of sorts. Even if you haven't read any of the other books that form the series, it makes perfect sense on its own. Actually, I'm sad to avow that, after all these years, Zafón's plots have started to mix and waver, and I don't accurately remember what happened in which book. And that didn't affect my enjoyment of this novel.
