it was amazing

Loved it!

Why don't I read more classics?! I'll definitely need to read her other books.

The BBC tv show was also adorable!

Cendaquenta Oh yes, that seminal classic, Jane Austen's "Interfering Wee B****".

Sandra I agree, Emma is one of my favourites by Jane Austen. I loved the 2009 BBC series as well

message 5: by Kristen (new) - added it

Kristen Not gonna lie I was worried you WOULDN'T like Jane Austen since you frequently dislike classics. This one especially is so good and gives the heroine more agency!

message 6: by Joy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Joy Yes I loved Emma too! You should check out Emma Approved which is a YouTube series based on the book too!

I LOVE classics! I've read so many, I even have a minor in French Literature! I just dislike sexist sci-fi classics and how people always excuse it :)

Amy Coles 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Emma and Mansfield Park and my two fav Austen novels (so read Mansfield Park next 😉)

Rachel Aranda You don’t know how excited I am that you loved Jane Austen but then add that you gave one of her books 5 stars.... I’m smiling like a goober now haha.

Michelle Risa they're called classics for a reason!! i'm excited that you enjoyed this one, i look forward to any possible future reviews on other classics by Austen and other authors!

message 12: by Serena (new) - added it

Serena Darking yay! I'm for sure gonna read it this year considering you don't get easily impressed! 😂😊

Trina Edens I’ve been reading Emma for 4 months now. I’m still only on page 80. It’s hard for me to get interested in but I’ll keep persevering.

Annica This makes me so happy!! I majored in Brit Lit and Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors! Persuasion is probably my favorite of her novels. Northanger Abbey is also fantastic if you want a younger filterless Austen parodying Gothic Literature.

message 15: by Shayna (new) - added it

Shayna R. Emma is the one I just can't make myself read. Definitely my least favourite of the storylines unfortunately.

message 16: by Karina (new) - added it

Arbnore You should read ‘Pride and Prejudice’

Abbie I also recommend the movie with Gwyneth Paltrow! She’s the Emma I always picture when reading the book. Pride and Prejudice is my other favorite Jane Austen novel ☺️

Queen Victoria Currently reading it now I LOVE IT

kerrigan Austen is so easy to read! Especially if you’ve seen any of the movie adaptations, I think they’re extremely accurate and make for an easy introduction to reading the classics as you become familiar with a lot of the grammar and social customs.
