The idea is fascinating, but the execution is sadly crippled by the author's inability to write characters that aren't himself. Most of this seems to stem from the author's belief that all smart, reasonable, and kind people think alike, and thus any character that does not think like and agree with Bob (or the author) is stupid, illogical, and cruel.
In the first third of the book it was noticeable but could be ignored. By the halfway point it was nearly intolerable. Especially as it became clear that any character of a different gender, nationality, or religious preference from the author was almost always an unflattering stereotype with no real personality--even as the book railed against the bigotry of others. The hypocrisy was just too much. I could barely finish the book.
Also, I laughed out loud when the Brazilian turned out to be violently dedicated to his country. Like, what? Have you met a single Brazilian?

I got a good laugh out of it too. I have a degree in computer science, I'm pretty sure I understood the book. 😂
It almost seems like he believes anyone who doesn't think like and agree with him is stupid, illogical or cruel... Is that you, Dennis E. Taylor?
