Alright. Here's where all of my friends rip me a new one.

When I was a teenager, my mother's guardian bought me this book. I could never get past the first 3 chapters. I fell in love with the movies and the lore throughout my life from that point on. I figured I would finally give the books a chance.

Honestly, I was a little disappointed. Nothing really happened in the first 60% of the book. There seemed to be a lot of detail put into things that didn't need them, and lacking in details that would've made people read more. The ending seemed rushed on top of that.

As a teenager, I'm sure I would've loved this book - speaking as an adult, I feel like I'll like the later books a lot more than this one.

It's not terrible. It's still a world I'm in love with. It just seemed very... basic, to say the least. And I hate saying that because I grew up with these characters.

Rose Lothbrok The beauty of this series for me is that I was 9 when I read the first book. The first book was at the perfect reading level for me. As time went on the reading level increased with mine and actually challenged me to become a better reader. Going back and rereading the earlier books is a little hard, but the initial experience is something I would not change for the world.

Amanda Setasha I could never get into it when I was younger honestly, but I'm slowly finally reading the entire series.
I absolutely love the entire lore, so I have a feeling I'll love the later books as the writing improves. :)
