A Marriage of Inconvenience with the possibility of more? Sure. Count me in. A Marriage of inconvenience skillfully crafted with engaging characters, a fresh spin to the trope, and a wonderful blend of wit, sexual tension and heartfelt moments that will make it impossible for you to put your eReader down? ABSOLUTELY!
Kat Tanner is a reluctant heiress. She would have liked to cut all strings to her family, but now it seems that in order to circumvent certain disaster she is in dire need of a husband. Someone who can be trusted and won’t want emotional entanglements. And the only man who fits the bill is Dan the security man who she has a crush on. Thinking that a business proposition with defined expectations would suit the seemingly indifferent man best, Kat takes the plunge hoping her heart will survive. What would she do though if she had it wrong and Dan is interested?
As with all beloved series, the ending is bittersweet. We want to see everyone happily ride into the sunset while wishing the series would keep on going, but without a doubt the overriding emotion was joyful excitement over getting to know a couple whose story has been in the making for a long time. I enjoyed every single beautifully strung word and was pleased and satisfied with this last chapter in the Knitting in the City Series.
Reid pens a fascinating and delightful romance that vibrates with humor, drama and a whole lot of wonderful friendship from the loveable knitters and their respective partners. The antics, camaraderie and loyalty between the ladies will make you want to be part of their close knit tribe.
The chemistry between Kat and Dan is appealing, full of warmth and enhanced by Reid’s brilliant plotting and character development which gives us two seemingly different individuals with different backgrounds and equally dissimilar struggles but who complement one another perfectly. I loved Kat’s journey of self-discovery and hers and Dan’s heart melting romance.
There were so many incredible moments and the best aren’t restricted to the romantic portions. Besides the aforementioned knitting sisterhood there’s also Penny’s ability to educate while entertaining. I always appreciate the snippets of information included in the epigraphs as related to the story. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
Marriage of Inconvenience is standalone contemporary romance by Penny Reid. T told from both points of view with lots of cursing and happily ever after that will leave you delighted. A must read for any romantic comedy lover.
