What the %#?!€£¥? I've never been so disappointed in a book! What started out as an intriguing and unique mystery/thriller and had me reading the first half very quickly, turned into a flat-out 'why-did-I waste-my-time' bummer of a book. I just don't get it. It was one of the more well-written and character-developed mysteries I've read (which is why I gave it two stars instead of one). It got a little long-winded but I was hanging on for more clues to the long ago disappearance of the two kids. This story had so much potential!!!! Why even bring up what happened to the three kids 30 years ago if you're not going to A) link it to the current case and/or B) let us know what happened! I was hoping one of her next four books reopened the case or gave some answers, but I read the synopses of them and it doesn't appear to be the case. Big bummer of a book.
