This man gets people, especially me, and how our brains work. I have missed his writing so much so I just gulped this short story down the minute I downloaded it. What kind of sight are you to behold when you say good-bye in the morning and hello in the evening? Cute, perky, somewhat put together? Or something else? Break some bad habits if need be but make yourself appealing to your husband." While I don't disagree with the overall sentiment (I don't want to look like a slob at any time) I don't feel like I need to be cute and perky for my husband. I'm a human and have human feelings of my own. ...more

Ashley Craft is a master at If you're a Disney fan and enjoy all of the foods they serve in the parks during the holidays--have I got a book for you!
Ashley Craft is a master at re-creating all of your Disney Parks holiday treats! The book covers the following Disney Parks: Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney Hollywood Studios, Disney Animal Kingdom, Disney California Adventure, Disney Springs/Downtown Disney, and Disney Resort Hotels. Then within each park, she highlights holidays and special events that feature unique food offerings: Valentine's Day, Black History Month, St. Patrick's Day, May the Fourth, Halloween, Christmas, Hanukkah, Fourth of July, Pride Month, Lunar New Year, Easter, Thanksgiving and Mardi Gras.
The book is heavily focused on sweets, drinks, and snacks because isn't that what we all want for various holiday treats? However, there are quite a few savory offerings, and no matter which holidays you celebrate, there is a a delightful recipe for you to prepare and enjoy at home.
From Mickey Shamrock Milk Shakes to Smoked Salmon Potato Latkes to Heart Shaped Butter Cookies and Mickey Gingerbread, you don't even have to travel to experience your favorite Disney Parks holiday foods.
I personally find these recipes fairly simple, but not basic. I love the garnishing and how cute they are, Craft really spent time to replicate what the actual products look like and taste like.

Action-packed from start to finishThe first book in Warren’s new Summer of Fire trilogy is an exciting look at the lives of smoke jumpers in Montana. Action-packed from start to finish, this story will have readers holding their breaths to see if the characters come through safely. There’s a mystery cliffhanger and a wonderfully written romance. Warren has an amazing ability to convey a solid faith message without being preachy. Kate Burns returns to Montana in the wake of her legendary father’s death while fighting a fire. She comes face to face with Jed Ransom, the man she once loved, but their relationship fell apart after she refused to give up smoke jumping. Can they find common ground long enough to train the new recruits? - See more at: http://www.rtbookreviews.com/book-rev...

Either be a book helping someone to focus on their spiritual health or work on physical health. The two things, especially what she recommends for this book, are nearly impossible. I don't know what her health qualifications are, but many of the recommendations for diet seem pulled out of thin air. Many of these supplements she recommends, exercises, etc. come from a place of extreme privilege. I mean, even finding these items online are not easy, and you have to have the funds to purchase them in the first place. Same with exercise equipment. Like I said, especially with the scripture and prayer, I believe her heart is in the right place. But if you want to feel like a failure before you even start, then you might get something out of it. ...more

I'm aspirational when it comes to hospitality, but this book, while probably very well intentioned and has been held up as the gold standard for books on hospitality, is just too much. It over-reaches on things like helping others and is quite dated with its terminology for the present day church. We need to meet people where they are, not preach at them. ...more
