Billy Graham
“I'm not for the left wing or the right wing--I'm for the whole bird.”
Billy Graham

Milton Sanford Mayer
“Did they know what Communism, “Bolshevism,” was? They did not; not my friends. Except for Herr Kessler, Teacher Hildebrandt, and young Horstmar Rupprecht (after he entered the university, in 1941), they knew Bolshevism as a specter which, as it took on body in their imaginings, embraced not only the Communists but the Social Democrats, the trade-unions, and, of course, the Jews, the gypsies, the neighbor next door whose dog had bit them, and his dog; the bundled root cause of all their past, present, and possible tribulations.”
Milton Sanford Mayer, They Thought They Were Free: The Germans 1933-45

Glenn Greenwald
“It's almost hard to imagine anything more undemocratic than the view that political officials should not debate American wars in public, but only express concerns 'privately with the administration.' That's just a small sliver of Johnson's radicalism: replacing Feingold in the Senate with Ron Johnson would be a civil liberties travesty analogous to the economic travesty from, say, replacing Bernie Sanders with Lloyd Blankfein.”
Glenn Greenwald

Kristian Williams
“The victims of right-wing violence are typically immigrants, Muslims, and people of color, while the targets of environmental and animal rights activism are among “the most powerful corporations on the planet” — hence the state’s relative indifference to the one and obsession with the other.

The broader pattern helps to explain one partial exception to the left/right gap in official scrutiny—namely, the domestic aspects of the “War on Terror.” Al Qaeda is clearly a reactionary organization. Like much of the American far right, it is theocratic, anti-Semitic, and patriarchal. Like Timothy McVeigh, the 9/11 hijackers attacked symbols of institutional power, killing a great many innocent people to further their cause. But while the state’s bias favors the right over the left, the Islamists were the wrong kind of right-wing fanatic. These right-wing terrorists were foreigners, they were Muslim, and above all they were not white. And so, in retrospect and by comparison, the state’s response to the Oklahoma City bombing seems relatively restrained—short-lived, focused, selectively targeting unlawful behavior for prosecution. The government’s reaction to the September 11th attacks has been something else entirely — an open-ended war fought at home and abroad, using all variety of legal, illegal, and extra-legal military, police, and intelligence tactics, arbitrarily jailing large numbers of people and spying on entire communities of immigrants, Muslims, and Middle Eastern ethnic groups. At the same time, law enforcement was also obsessively pursuing — and sometimes fabricating—cases against environmentalists, animal rights activists, and anarchists while ignoring or obscuring racist violence against people of color. What that shows, I think, is that the left/right imbalance persists, but sometimes other biases matter more.”
Kristian Williams, Our Enemies in Blue: Police and Power in America

“It's been said before, the left censors what they deem offensive, and the right censors what they deem obscene.”

Michael Parenti
“What distinguishes fascism from ordinary right-wing patriarchal autocracies is the way it attempts to cultivate a revolutionary aura. Fascism offers a beguiling mix of revolutionary-sounding mass appeals and reactionary class politics. The Nazi party's full name was the National Socialist German Workers Party, a left-sounding name. As already noted, the SA storm troopers had a militant share-the-wealth strain in their ranks that was suppressed by Hitler after he took state power.”
Michael Parenti, Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism

“A billionaire plutocrat is now sitting in the White House. Democracy has been overthrown. A right wing coup d’état has taken place. The Confederacy has defeated the Union. Racist Nazis are now running America, calling themselves “patriots”. They are the enemies of the People, the enemies of America, and the enemies of the world. The time has come to get rid of the global elite and their brainwashed right wing puppets. The time has come for the people to take control of their own destiny. We need to reboot the world.”
Ranty McRanterson

“Nostalgia is an excessive sentimentality for the past, for home. It is associated with a yearning to return to a happy and safe period in your life. The word comes from nóstos, meaning “homecoming”, and álgos, meaning “pain” or “ache”. It’s all about the “good old days”, and “the good times”. Conservatism revolves around nostalgia. All right wingers are nostalgic, and suffer from future shock and future fear. Science is about extreme nostalgia for the material atoms of the ancient Greeks. Materialism is entirely dead in the era of quantum mechanics, yet scientists go on believing in matter anyway. They are highly conservative individuals unwilling to contemplate leaving the home materialism has provided for them. The last thing they want is to end up in the Unknown Land of Mind, where thought, not matter, is core reality. That would ruin everything for the scientific materialists and empiricists.”

“National Reserve (The Sonnet)

Every nation has its Netanyahu,
Somewhere they're called Trump,
Somewhere they are Recep Erdoğan,
Somewhere they are Meloni or Modi,
Somewhere they're called Imran Khan.

Thus Christ becomes a vessel of hate,
Koran is used to peddle division.
Saffron substitutes the color of blood,
Discrimination becomes the new tradition.

Somewhere they cut Islam from curriculum,
Somewhere they convert museum into mosque,
Somewhere they erase black history - it's all
part-n-parcel of the same nationalist muck.

Rip the mask of a nationalist patriot,
You'll find dormant a homicidal maniac.
Nationalism has no religion or ethnicity,
Only appearance changes, not the nut.

Beware of these nutjobs of nationalism,
selling you the jungle wrapped in tradition!
If you don't vote them off their throne asap,
they'll turn a free nation into reservation.”

“Truth is the first casualty of fascism. When the truth can be so easily disregarded, all hell follows.”
Cliff James, Life As A Kite

“For perhaps these attacks on feminism can clearly be seen in a wider context of anti-intellectualism, and our era's prevailing disappointment with and rejection of the usefulness of ideology. While the only political ideology to truly thrive internationally over the last decade or so is that of the neo-conservative Right - in Australia, economic rationalism is its proudest achievement - the ideological regimes of the Left (communism, socialism) have faltered. As feminism has traditionally been associated with left-wing thinking and activism, its philosophical fall from grace could perhaps have been better anticipated.”

“One cannot walk with just the left foot or just the right foot, one needs both.”

“Isn’t it hilarious the way conservatives rail against the Surveillance State, yet worship the Cosmic Peeping Tom that is watching everyone 24/7? Seriously, hasn’t “God” got better things to do with his time than record the bad words of the human species on miserable little planet Earth? Could the concept of “God” be made any more trivial and pathetic? “God” has been reduced to a cosmic policeman who does nothing but pound the beat, listing everyone’s sins in his creepy, autistic little notebook. When we become Gods, you can be sure we won’t be glorified shopping mall security guards with our cameras trained on everyone all the time, recording all of their “bad words”.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
“Aggressive, overreaching wealth redistribution *does* happen in the United States, it just happens in the opposite direction conservatives scream about: our system takes money away from everyday people and siphons it towards the profanely wealthy.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

“Following the Beatles, who incidentally were put together by the Tavistock Institute,
came other "Made in England" rock groups, who, like the Beatles, had Theo Adorno
write their cult lyrics and compose all the "music." I hate to use these beautiful words in
the context of "Beatlemania"; it reminds me of how wrongly the word "lover" is used
when referring to the filthy interaction between two homosexuals writhing in pigswill. To
call "rock" music, is an insult, likewise the language used in "rock lyrics.”
John Coleman, Conspirators' Hierarchy: The Story of the Committee of 300

“The majority of people are not fully committed to either the right or the left. Nor either to censorship or to absolute freedom of speech. People are too caught up in the daily struggle for survival to pour a lot of energy into ideology.”
Wendy McElroy, XXX: A Woman's Right to Pornography

“And I've noticed that the people in the ultraconservative extremist right, right now, have built a new metanarrative around America. And it started with the rise of the election of Donald Trump. But that metanarrative was anyone who does not see strength in America is weak. Anyone who opposes us is an enemy. Anyone who gets in our way will be trampled. We will not govern as a nation of equals. We will govern over and rule over people. Democracy is losing the metanarrative story.”
Malcolm W. Nance

Avi Tuschman
“...politics isn't -just about money-, but also about who gains authority over a population's minds and bodies. Controlling education, healthcare, economic policies, and morally controversial laws can influence how people recombine and transmit DNA in various ways, at different rates, and to what consequence. The rise of power of political extremists greatly magnifies this control over both genetic and economic resources.”

“New Civil War Has Begun, Sonnet
(Letter to Bigots)

One by one every nation is
regressing back to the cavemen days.
Persecution is becoming national norm,
that too, by means of democratic ways.

What's the point of having a democracy,
if in the end, you elect bigoted autocrats!
Which only points to an uncomfortable truth,
world population is still dominated by bigots.

Whole world is headed back to the dark ages,
unlike last time, this time it's people's will.
Bigots pretend human, but bigots elect bigots -
once an ape, always an ape, thus blooms a jungle.

You cannot expect me to respect your opinion,
when your opinion is founded in discrimination.
Intolerance is not a difference in opinion,
any more than hate crime is a right to freedom.

You can have your little victories, for I know,
it's difficult to outgrow your jungle basement.
But this I promise you, I'll ignite your children
into a sanctifying thunder of emancipation.”
Abhijit Naskar, When World Cries Blood: New Civil War Sonnets

“Free speech is when the left-wing dislike but allow the words and thoughts of the right-wing, and the right-wing dislike but allow the words and thoughts of the left-wing. What we are experiencing now in Western democracies, is the left-wing not only disallowing the words and thoughts of the right-wing, but also the words and thoughts of the moderates. Any such imbalance is dangerous to society.”
Robert Black
