Fight Song: A Paranormal Shifter Romance (Rocky River Fighters Book 3) by Grace Brennan is the third book in her Rocky River Fighters series. This book can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest that you read the entire series to help you enhance your enjoyment of this series. I think that the books in this series keep getting better and better. I can't wait to see who gets their book next. I enjoy this author's writing skills as she is able to pull me right in from the beginning. I easily read this book in one sitting. This story is easy flowing and engaging. There are a couple of twists and turns in this story that I didn't really see coming but kept me reading to find out more. Her characters are both lovable and connectable. In this installment, we get to see Jax's story. Piper has been away from home for a few years and she is back to settle her Grandmother's estate. After a nasty breakup and divorce, she is just trying to show what a bad ass woman she is. She is trying to start her life over with a fresh start, this just might be an opportunity she needs. Her problem is that Jax still lives in town and she doesn't want to see him. He broke her heart but he also thought he was saving her life by breaking up with her. Now that she is back, will they have the second chance that he so wants? When mysterious things start happening, he comes to her rescue. Who is behind it all? Will fate give them a second chance at love? I loved both of these characters. She is so strong and knows what she wants with her life. She is determined to fight her feelings for Jax. Jax feels bad for what happened with them but he only did it for her own good but will she listen to that? He is determined to make her his again and nothing will stop him from that happening. I enjoyed the banter that they have going on, they made me laugh and also feel compassion for them. I also enjoyed seeing some of the other characters from the previous stories. I can't wait to see which one gets their own story next. I highly recommend this book. Find out if Jax will get his second chance.

Fight Song is the third book in the Rocky River Fighters series by Grace Brennan. The story is a superb paranormal/shifter romance about second chances, which drew me in and held my attention from the very first page, right through till the end. I have read quite a few of Ms. Brennan’s stories now and have loved every one. I had a lot of expectation for this story, after loving the others so much, but Ms. Brennan didn’t disappoint and delivered everything I was hoping for, and more. Even though this is part of a series, it could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the other books in the series as well, because not only to they give you more insight to the characters, backstories and other details- they are also wonderful, captivating stories in their own rights. Each book in the series has its own feel, flavour, and identity- while still complimenting the other books in the collection. Ms. Brennan has infused this one with its own unique quality that I found not only intriguing, but also very endearing.
This story is centred around Jax St. James, another of the Rocky River Fighters and I really enjoyed getting to know him better. As expected from Ms. Brennan, this book is well written, with a great plot, superb story development and scene setting. The characters are completely believable- they’re fully realised individuals with complex personalities, who are interesting and endearing.
The chemistry and tension between Jax and Piper was palpable. It sizzled off the screen and singed my kindle.
I can’t wait to read more the next book, I think it’s set to be the best of the bunch!!

a great read about not getting hurt again. Piper McCoy returns to her home town after the death of her grandmother. she returns to find she has changed from her pan to be who she was but everything is still the same. she gives herself a month to settle affairs and the bakery and her grandparents house, but she doesn't realise an old love Jax is still around. Jax is a shape shifter who can transform into an eagle who has been in love with Piper since forever. when piper returns, jax hopes they can resume their love but she is full of pain. but when he begins to fight for the love he wants, will piper give in and be his mate or push him away?
a great read. well developed plot. well developed characters such as Piper with her strengths of being her own woman but with her vulnerabilities of heartbreak and pain that was perfectly written and emotive. i also loved how she isnt afraid to be herself despite the views of everyone around her which was beautifully written. or with Jax fighting for what he wants even if it hurts him. I thoroughly enjoyed his shifter nature, with shifts between human and eagle that were easy to follow and humourous interaction between both forms. I loved this mix of fantastical shape shifters and realistic settings which was excellently written.
i was unsure about the italicised memories at first, but they worked well to display how things have changed from the past and didn't distract from the narrative of the present. the feel of a small town that never changes was relatable and perfectly written as if you were actually there. I also loved the visual detail of her grandmothers little cottage with the flowers around the porch and the fairy tale tower which were sweet and homely. the empty bakery was emotive, with the memories of how it used to be full of life with her grandmother was beautifully written and emotive. Overall, a great read and i would give it four stars.

The way this author described the background and scenery made you want to jump into the story. We even get to see some of our fighters with their mates.

I love her writing, the easy flow of her words that completely pull you into her stories and hold your attention throughout the book. Fight Song is a second chance romance story that is filled with intense drama.
Piper McCoy does not want to return to Eagle Creek. The death of her grandmother has her returning to her hometown and settle her estate. Piper has had a divorce and is determined not to be vulnerable and hurt again. She arrives back home to Eagle Creek with her armor in place ready to handle business and avoid Jax.
Jax St. James is a shifter and a Rocky River Fighter. He broke Piper heart years ago but he thought he was doing the right thing for Piper. I love Sexy quiet Jax. In the two previous books I was always wondering what his story was. It does not disappoint me at all. I love that he is so musical and writes songs.
He has been missing his mate (Piper) for 8 long years. He never thought to see her again. Now she is back and he will do whatever it takes to get her and never let her go again. The song Key to My Heart was amazing! Who wouldn’t tear up listening to him sing that? In his gruff voice? I love how determined he is and plots to remind Piper how they were and how they can be again. The four leaf clover? I loved it. The memories at the beginning of each chapter..so sweet!
Piper comes back to deal with family obligations. She has no clue that Jax is a shifter or that she is his mate. She is very mean to him at the beginning. I like how she has changed and won’t take *stuff* from anyone but especially a man. I enjoyed her little dogs antics.
My only issue with this story was Piper had a homeless person place in Seattle and she seemed dedicated to that. I expected something artsy and helping of homeless where she is now. It seemed like she just gave that up for the bakery....unless I missed something.
I mean I was pretty Ga-ga over Jax and his Mates story. Very romantic. The title of this book is perfect for Jax and Pipers story. I really thought it was for the fight but the real meaning is so much better.
This is the third in the Rocky River shifter series. I have enjoyed them all and they can be read separately. I see there will be another book. Must be Ian? I look forward to reading it soon.

Fight Song by Grace Brennan is the third book in her Rocky River Fighters series and let me just say HOT HOT HOT! Following the story of Piper and Jax, the reader is given a great deal of back story for these two who have been through the ringer a time or two together. Piper is determined to not get hurt again, but when she sees Jax after so many years she can't seem to stay away from him. Jax hurt Piper as a way to get her to leave so many years ago thinking it was what was best for her. But seeing her after all these years, his feelings are still there and Jax is determined to get the girl that still owns his heart. Just how far is Jax willing to go to convince Piper? Will fate lead these two together or will these two be nothing more than lovers with memories of a better time together? Brennan is a favorite author of mine, and this series has yet to disappoint me. Her storyline is superb, the characters were amazing to get to know, and the heat between them steamed over my kindle more than once. While this book is a part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend that this book be read as a part of the series though, since characters from the first two books do make appearances in this one. I can't wait to see where Brennan takes this series next. If you are looking for a great book filled with alpha males and the women who love them than this is the book and series for you!

Fight Song: A Paranormal Shifter Romance (Rocky River Fighters #3) by Grace Brennan was another heart string pulling, hot steamy read, with just enough action to push it over the edge.
Every time I read one of these book I get all giddy and excited. I love the characters, the interactions and I love how multi layered the characters are. I particularly liked the romance in this instalment. This was not a insta-love situation, it was deeper, older and much more complicated. Emotions where rung on high, and it gave the story a darker, more sinister edge than it's counterparts.
To keep everything a mystery for you, I'm going to stop there with my story analysis. I'm going to switch to the aesthetics. This well written tale with smooth writing, easy to follow plot, with engaging interesting dialogue. Characters interactions were realistic and felt natural. The world building was detailed and stimulating. Told in dual POV, I got captured by this story, and didn't want to leave.
Though this the third book, it can be read as a stand alone, but I do suggest you read the other books, just to get more background on the core characters. That and, they are amazing.
I highly recommend you get your hands on this series, this book. Take my word that you will fall deep for this group of shifters and their mix-match clan.

This is book three in the Rocky River Fighters series. Fight Song is Jax’s and Piper’s story. I have been excited for this book since we learned in the second that Jax already had a mate. I couldn’t wait to read more, and I wasn’t disappointed! Before coming back home, Piper learned to be herself despite what others wanted her to be. Jax is usually quiet, but is willing to fight to win his mate back. They were a great couple. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the ups and downs this couple had to endure to get their happy ending. I think that this series just gets better and better with each story!
The one thing that I particularly liked about this book was all of the flashbacks. This really gave me more insight and understanding of their relationship and the depth of history they had together. Grace Brennan wrote this story from the perspective of both Jax and Piper. I absolutely love when authors do this. I feel that I get to know both main characters equally! Thankfully, Ms. Brennan has written all this series this way, and I truly hope she continues. I really appreciate that she put Snickers in this story. He made me laugh at some of the antics that he pulled with Jax. To Grace Brennan if you read this- I’m sorry for the loss of your Snickers.

This is the third book in a wonderful paranormal romance series revolving around the Rocky River fighters. The fighter in focus in this book is Jax. He has always been the quiet one, keeping to his fighting and his music. Needless to say, the others are shocked to find that Jax already has a mate. But he blew things a long time ago and let her go. Now she is back in town and he knows he must win her back. She is so different now, but he finds it so sexy and so her. But will she forgive him?
This is a good story. The same characters you loved from the previous books are back too as secondary characters. It was nice to see more about Jax and meet Piper. I really liked her. I can say that I would have liked to see more of the "Eagle side" of Jax. You know his eagle still has feeling for his mate, but you don't really see a whole lot of him. But to the author's credit, I cannot say I have read a book with an eagle shifter as a main character before.
This is a great book in a great series and I highly recommend this book and series to those who like shifters and paranormal romance stories.

Magnificent Mystery. Sexy shifters. Foxy fighters. And making it even greater is that it is a second chance romance.
For those of you that have been reading all of the books we finally get to know why Jax was a Jack___. If you haven't read any of Grace's past books; you really should. They are amazing to me. Once I start one of her books I don't put it down until it is done. They flow well, The story builds and then bam---a great ending.
Piper has returned to Eagle Creek after 8 years living in Seattle. She only plans to stay a month in order to take care of her grandmother's affairs. Of course she didn't expect Jax to claw his way back in. Gotta love the guy's persistence.
Piper is staying in her grandmother's house. And when she needs something fixed Jax is there. When strange things start happening Jax is there to protect her. He keeps clawing away at her walls. Maybe he can find her heart before the month is up.

For those of you that have been reading all of the books we finally get to know why Jax was a Jack___. If you haven't read any of Grace's past books; you really should. They are amazing to me. Once I start one of her books I don't put it down until it is done. They flow well, The story builds and then bam---a great ending.
Piper has returned to Eagle Creek after 8 years living in Seattle. She only plans to stay a month in order to take care of her grandmother's affairs. Of course she didn't expect Jax to claw his way back in. Gotta love the guy's persistence.
Piper is staying in her grandmother's house. And when she needs something fixed Jax is there. When strange things start happening Jax is there to protect her. He keeps clawing away at her walls. Maybe he can find her heart before the month is up.

This is the second book that I have read by this author and the second book that I have absolutely loved! I never thought I would enjoy shifter books but this author has an amazing talent for creating such wonderful characters that I couldn’t help but fall in love with them straight away. As with the other book I read I was hooked from the very first page until the end. I loved everything about this story! I love the twists and turns, the pace and flow was fantastic and I always love her endings!!
Jax was just completely amazing! I loved his fierce protectiveness of Piper – he was totally committed to protecting her! After seeing him in the previous book I was really looking forward to find out more about the brooding secondary character!
I liked Piper too; I really felt for her at the beginning and could feel every emotion she did with regards to her Grandmother. I understand why she had built up the walls around her but I desperately wanted her to lower them and let Jax in.
I still haven’t read book 1 in the series and I really need too! I cannot recommend these books enough they are fantastic to read!

Fight Song by Grace Brennan is the third book in her Paranormal Shifter Romance series Rocky River Fighters! I had been waiting for Jax’ story since I finished the second book and yey, Grace did not disappoint us, she gave us a beautiful paranormal story of second chances filled with peril and persistence and love … You could possibly read this story as a standalone but please, do yourself a favour and read the other stories in the series as well as they all are gems and bring the Eagle Creek world together!

This is one of those series that could be read as a stand-alone, but I think it's important to read it from the start because you don't want to miss anything. Each is a quick, sexy, shifter read and each builds upon the previous one adding layers to the ever evolving story of the fighters of Eagle Creek.
Book 3 - Fight Song is about the quiet one of the bunch, Jax. Jax and Piper grew up together and made quite the team, until they no longer did.
As with the other books in this series, the author writes a complex character while keeping it simple. The descriptive way she describes the H and h made it so visual that I could picture them as if they were my friends. The story has a bit of an edge to it and I thought I knew what was going to happen at every turn in a predictable sort of way and was surprised to see how wrong I was.
I absolutely recommend this book and this entire series. Even if you aren't a normal fan of "paranormal shifter romance" I think there's enough in this series for any lover of romance to enjoy.

This series just keeps getting better. Jax and Piper are amazing and I couldn’t get enough. Piper was a tough woman to crack but Jax was very persistent. The author kept you guess making it so you couldn’t predict the ending. All the twist and turns made for a very engaging story. Piper is my type of woman she was broken so many times in her life. But she put herself back together and became what she felt was her true self. Nothing can truly cure you when you’ve hit that breaking point. Unless you really dig deep into yourself and find yourself. The process of healing is long and never truly over. Moments and memories can set you back. But Piper pushed through but even eight years later the scars still throb. I understand why Jax did what he did. Nothing harms the people you love especially if it’s something you can prevent from happening. Overall I loved it and will continue to read from this author.

I love second chance romances and this one was fantastic! The author did a great job mixing the storyline with flashes from the past to fill in blanks and make it an overall more comprehensive story. Jax and Piper are perfect for each other and they knew it from the time they were kids. When Jax breaks up with Piper right before she graduates from high school, her heart shattered. It took some time and a bad marriage before Piper found herself again and remade herself into who she wanted to be both inside and out. Older and wiser, Jax is determined not to let Piper get away this time. Piper is just an all-around amazing character with great depth and some great one-liners. With Piper resisting Jax's all-out battle for her heart, it takes some close quarters and mischief to force their hands and restore their bond. All-around heart-warming read full of emotion, forgiveness, mystery, and a bit of action.

Fight Song (book 3) is a part of the Rocky River Fighters series written by Grace Brennan. This story like the rest of the series is great. Jax and Piper have a rough past. And he is just not realizing how much his actions before hurt her, now that he wants her back. Although he may have had his reasoning for the way he behaved before, the things he said before, until he explains everything to Piper she will always be mad, and in denial about their feelings for each other. Now can he convince her to stay instead of leaving in a month time.
The characters have issues to work out they reconsider their actions from 8 years ago and how they affected everyone. Piper is a strong leader character but she wasn’t always like that. Jax has a big mistake to make up for but will she believe him.

Fight Song is book three in the Rocky River Fighting series by Grace Brennan. This story has reistated my love for paranormal romance. I have not read a good one in so long, and was so ecstatic to read Fight Song.
Jax done the admirable thing and gave up Piper, breaking boty their hearts in the process. Conditioning herslf angaint futher heartache, she became a take no prisoners type of bad girl, never bowing down from a confrontation and never afraid to go after what she wants. What a topsy turvy journey they endured. But the evolution of their story was beauty personified.
Fight Song is my favourite in this series so far, and I am eagerpy awaiting the next chapter is this crafy chronicle. 4 stars

This is the third installment in the Rocky River Fighters, and this time we get to know Jax, who was always the quiet one of the bunch. Piper is coming back to the town, where she spent most of her younger years and where she left her heart when she went to Seattle 8 years prior. This is a great story of fighting for something you lost, through a well-intentioned decision, being strong, and true to yourself. I like that Piper is beautiful in an unconventional way, strong and stubborn to a fault. Jax on the other hand is a musical poet, reserved and doesn’t take thing too serious. Great read, I really like Grace Brennan’s shifter romances and will keep my eyes open for the next one.

Fight Song: A Paranormal Shifter Romance (Rocky River Fighters Book 3) by Grace Brennan is another delightful book to this series. It is a quick read as the story flows easily and is highly engaging. I enjoy Grace’s writing skills with characters that are relatable and lovable and twists and turns that I didn't see coming. There are characters from the other books in the series so I would read them in order to understand who they are and what parts they play in the world of the Rocky River fighters. Grace really brings it all together and this is another great read, I really enjoy Grace’s shifter romances and an waiting for the next one.

Fight Song, by Grace Brennan, is the third installment in the Rocky River Fighters series. This paranormal shifter romance is suspenseful and engaging. The author has a flair for their overlap of characters and stories within the series. This is Jax's story where we meet Piper and learn their history. It was a fun and energetic read, full of adventure, romance and more. The fighters of Rocky River are fantastic, their stories enthralling. Each one better than the previous. Jax is one of my favorite characters from this series/book. Grace Brennan does a commendable job creating realistic characters that touch the readers.

Loved this book! I have been waiting for this one and the next for a while now and finally forgot about it! But I'm so glad I remembered after all! It was amazing. I love the story of Jax and Piper. I was really curious in the last two stories on Jax's back story and what his story was, so I am glad we got to find out. I was disappointed about the climax of finding out who was messing with Piper, after the intense last couple of stories I was expecting something much bigger and explosive but it was over all a good story and a great happily ever after!

This is a standalone novel but i recommend reading them all in order so you can get the full impact of the amazing journeys. I really enjoyed this story it kept me on my toes with enough drama and wowzer it's hot like leave your mouth dry hot!! I loved the fact it had alot of backstory so you can really get a feel of what the main character's have gone through and with the way it was written i could truly feel the emotions amazing! I can't wait to read more from this series i really did enjoy every second was hooked!

Her strength is so amazing. To learn all she endured and overcame is invigorating! So much respect for her! And the two of them together is heartwarming. They are so perfect for each other. To fall in live with your best friend is seriously life! Cant wait to see which fighter is next to find their Mate!!!!

I really liked Fight Song! Piper has come back after her grandmother passes , she's been gone for a line time. Jax did what he thought was best to protect Piper. Piper has to get her affairs in order, and hopefully go back home. But Jax isn't letting her go but he has lots of ground to make up. It has everything you need in a shifter romance strong female character, mystery, hot mma fighters! Loved it!!
