Whenever I get stuck, I simply look at the outline, figure how I can go from where I am to where I need to be, and magic happens.

If not, taking a shower or doing some exercise helps.

One thing I have experienced is "outliner's block", especially with my most recent project. I knew the kind of story I wanted to write, but not how to adapt it to the characters and the situation they were in. Watching movies and reading books with a similar story structure generally solve this problem.(less)

“did not speak much afterwards, and Brenor spent his time skinning the hare. Lianna watched in a mix of awe and revulsion,”
Jeroen Steenbeeke, Gift of the Destroyer

“sooner he left, the better. As Dreyan entered the living room of his parents' home, he was met with an angry stare. "Do you have any idea how late the hour is?" his father asked him, his blond beard shaking as he spoke. Next to him, his mother looked relieved. "I was worried," his mother said, as she walked over to him and took hold of his hands. "There have been rumors of wandering strangers,”
Jeroen Steenbeeke, Gift of the Destroyer

“Lianna took a deep breath and willed the water to come forth. A warm glow washed over her body, increasing in heat with every beat of her”
Jeroen Steenbeeke, Gift of the Destroyer
