About this ebook
In a war-torn future, where the lines between man and machine blur, a squad of elite mech troopers fights a desperate battle against the relentless advance of the Texas Separatists. Amidst the smoke and shrapnel of the frontlines, Bandit, a hardened veteran with a heart of steel, leads his team on a perilous mission that will test their loyalty, courage, and the very limits of their humanity.
As the conflict escalates and the casualties mount, Bandit and his squad are forced to confront the ghosts of their past and the uncertain future that lies ahead. From the frost-bitten training grounds of Minnesota to the blood-soaked battlefields of the Republic, Shrapnel Ghost March is a gritty, action-packed exploration of the bonds forged in the heat of combat and the sacrifices that must be made in the name of duty.
With each mech destroyed and each comrade lost, Bandit and his team are pushed to the brink, forced to question the very cause they fight for and the price they are willing to pay for victory. In a world where the lines between right and wrong are as blurred as the smoke-filled horizon, they must find the strength to carry on, even as the weight of their actions threatens to crush them.
Shrapnel Ghost March is a must-read for fans of Starship Troopers, Battletech, and Pacific Rim. Strap in and prepare for a pulse-pounding journey through a neo-western landscape of mechanized warfare and personal redemption, where the only thing more dangerous than the enemy is the truth that lies buried within.

PROLOGUE
In the small, idyllic coastal town of Bayshore Cove, where passing days were marked only by the cries of gulls over salty waves, Amelia Hayes stood at the cliff's edge, her gaze lost in the azure vastness of the ocean. The setting sun kindled the sky into a flame-bright canvas, streaks of tangerine and violet dancing on the undersides of clouds. It formed a perfect backdrop for Amelia's swirling thoughts and life-changing contemplations. The tranquility of her seaside home, usually an escape from the rote melodramas of small-town life, now seemed to whisper of adventures far beyond the sheltered shores of Bayshore Cove.
Amelia was a standout in her town, not just because she was the only one who could beat Mr. Johnson at chess but also because of her unquenchable thirst for adventure. I'm bored!
was her daily anthem, much to the dismay of her cat, Sir Whiskers, who preferred predictable routines.
That evening, Amelia faced a crossroads, clutching an acceptance letter from Prestige University – a ticket to a life of academic achievements and a career in something undoubtedly boring. But as she stared at the horizon, where the ocean kissed the sky, a different call echoed in her heart, a call as persistent as her aunt's annual Christmas newsletters.
The tranquility of the seaside, her usual escape from her mother's lectures on proper table etiquette, now whispered of adventures beyond the comfort of her small town. The tales of distant conflicts and heroism, usually background noise from her father's old radio, now struck a chord within her. Join the army, see the world, avoid Aunt Mabel's fruitcake,
she mused, her decision teetering on the edge like her toes over the cliff.
Amelia's mind careened through an obstacle course of swirling hopes and nagging doubts, each leap leaving her breathless at the thought of escaping her confined small-town life. She pictured the crack of dawn reveille, the beads of sweat on obstinate ropes courses, the salty ocean air filling lungs pushed to their capacity - each a small price for freedom from the tedium of familiar streets and the cloying gossip clinging like cobwebs in Seabreeze Shore's only cafe.
Amelia's decision solidified as the sun slipped below the horizon, leaving a trail of star-studded promises. She craved a less traveled path that would challenge her, push her to her limits, and, most importantly, keep her away from another summer selling ice cream at Uncle Bob's shop.
Turning her back to the sea, she sighed, the university acceptance letter feeling as heavy as her grandmother's fruitcake. Sorry, Prestige U, my destiny lies elsewhere. Besides, I've always looked good in green,
she said to the wind, hoping it was listening.
Her journey to university was untaken, replaced by a path leading to barracks, battlefields, and a new identity. From Amelia Hayes, chess champion and cat enthusiast, to Frog, the soldier,
she announced to the seagulls, who seemed unimpressed.
Her transformation was more than just a change of scenery; it marked the genesis of a legend in the making. She was fated to become a mech trooper destined to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with elite warriors locked in an epic tale of audacity, sacrifice, and split-second reflexes as nimble as a stalking cat.
And so, under the blanket of the night sky, Amelia Hayes stepped forward, not just into a new chapter of her life, but into the annals of a war-torn world, ready to leap into the unknown, occasionally look back and think, Well, at least I'm not selling ice cream.
This was her beginning, a prologue to untold adventures, predictions whispered by stars and waves alike. The call of the horizon, once a faint murmur, now roared with the ferocity of destiny, drowning out even shrill lectures about upholding generations of family legacy. She pictured the look of utter dismay on her parents' faces when their only heir cast aside her guaranteed future among the polished halls of Ivy for the wild unknown. Little did they know their princess longed to be a warrior, yearning for a life batting adversaries rather than batting eyes at reputable bachelors.
