CHAPTER 157 Tales Of Old

Amber's POV 

Chase and I had the best alone time, talking and cuddling. He kept pestering me though, with mine and Blaze's weird behavior and I kept changing the subject to something else. I didn't want to make him upset, and I didn't want Rose to know we were on to her. She looked suspicious enough when I ran into her in the hallway in our private wing, when I was going to be with Chase. I needed him to be distracted. 

The girls came into our room just before lunch, and Elina was upset because we hadn't told them we were there. We laughed at her pouty face, and kissed a cheek each, which made her smile in an instant. 

At lunch things got really interesting, but I knew this would happen and therefore kept a straight face through it all. 

Chase, may I speak to you in private, please? Something has come up while your mate kept you away. Rose says, her voice irritated and her eyes shooting daggers at me. 

Everything you have to say, you can say in front of my mate and Queen and my brother. Chase answers while crossing his arms. He clearly doesn't like her tone or her death glare. 

Fine! I have been asked to leave the castle, and I have no idea why?! I am a royal member of the… 

Actually, Rose. You are not a royal member anymore. If I remember correctly, and I do, you signed away all your rights to be a royal member and your claim on the throne all those years ago? 

Those can be revoked. 

They can, but only if the ruling pair, and that means both the King AND Queen, decides exactly that. And we haven't. 

You dare. You are not even a dragon, only a lousy. 

That's enough aunt! We have not decided to revoke anything, and if you have been asked to leave I believe my men have a good reason. I trust them. I will sort this out, but in the meantime, please do as they say and I will be in contact. Regarding my mate; you will never speak to her like that again! She is your Queen and that's final. Rose grunts something that sounds like just wait until I'm the mother of the King. But I can't be sure, so I just let her go. She stomps away, and through a tantrum all the way down the hall. Chase seems surprised by her behavior, but me and Blaze counted on her losing some of her well rehearsed acting.   

After lunch we say goodbye to the girls, and Glaciel and Merida go to their room to play. They ask if they can go for a walk, and we say okay as long as Tristan and Ezra are with them. The guys promise to stay by their mates' side the whole time. I min-link Ezra, letting him know I know everything, and that he is in so much trouble later. He laughs and sends me a hand kiss, to which I stick my tongue out - like the true royal Queen that I am. 

When everyone who is supposed to be there is gathered in Berion's library, we close and lock the doors. The others seem on edge with the information they are about to get, but Chase, Blaze and Berion seem so relaxed. I feel like I have a leg in both camps. I'm excited and anxious at the same time, but I'm also ready to hear what he has to say.  

Ahem. As we are all gathered together, I will start my tale in a short moment. Queen Amber, I have a few questions for you, and I need honest answers, please. I nod, not sure what he wants to know, but I will not hold anything back. 

Is it true that you recently have been a prisoner to the goddess Keres? I nod. 

Did she do or say anything out of the ordinary to you? I think for a second, before answering. 

She was trying to force me to do something, I have forgotten what, and I felt an immense anger towards her. My flames consumed me, as is shielding me from her. She taunted me with the talk of how mortal magic and flames had no power over her, and if I thought she would be scared? Then I got enough of her and sent one of my flames her way. It hurt her, and she got so mad screaming about how I had the hellfire - whatever that is. Berion nods, while the rest of the gathered royals mumble. My mates are the only ones keeping calm, as they already knew about this. 

Anything else? 

I took the girls with me, if that is what you mean? I say with uncertainty. 

King Oron. You have experienced the Queen's magic on yourself. How are you feeling? 

Like a new man, honestly Grandpa Sage. She has cleaned every bit of evil magic that the wrench put on me. Where is she by the way? He looks at me with gratitude, but Blaze growls once and his eyes are everywhere else than me. I giggle quietly at the possessiveness of my water beast.  

She and King Daron's mother are in the cells. They are going to be tried before the judge tomorrow, but they will undoubtedly be found guiltily, especially after the Queen's statement after her examination on you, King Oron. Everyone nods. 

I must apologize on behalf of my mother. She's old, and her mind can't comprehend that times have changed. I brought her because she said she wanted to see the new Queen here, and make peace with the young King. I never imagined she was going to be involved in treason.

Queen Abigail has promised to assist with her truth powers tomorrow. Berion states, and while mom nods, mumbles sound again from the other.

Is that really necessary? King Mesus says, he looks at mom. No offense, but you are no dragon. 

Neither am I, King Mesus. I state calmly, and he immediately backs down. 

Sorry Queen Amber, this will take some getting used to. 

Ahem. Berion clears his throat. If that is all, I will get on with what I have learned from our ancient scripts and the ones Queen Abigail and King Matthew have lent me. 

CHAPTER 158 Queen of Fire

Amber's POV 

As I said, I have looked through our scripts of old, but I had a feeling it wouldn't be enough, so I reached out to the royalty through the different factions. I have had copies of scripts from every faction sent, thanks to Queen Abigail and King Mathew. 

We're technically not Queen and King anymore, Dragon Wise. We have given the titles to our dear children.. 

Once a Queen or King, always a Queen or King, Abigail. I look between Berion and mom, they seem to have some sort of understanding going on between them. They must have met throughout the years from when Chase felt our mate bond the first time, and up until the day they came to visit on my 18th birthday. Mom smiles, and dad takes her hand, kissing it. 

I told you so. He whispers to her, and she blushes. I give them a pointed look, and they both chuckle quietly. I roll my eyes, before gesturing for Berion to continue. 

The scripts all say the same thing, regarding the raising of a new era for the Dragons when the none Dragon Queen sits on the throne. She will be the ruler of many people, not just the Dragons. Berion takes a deep breath. 

At the beginning of time there were four sister goddesses. They all agreed to create a realm for their various children. Their mother, Solei, was happy for them to get along and work together, so she decided to help. She watched as the sisters agreed upon layout, and where their children would thrive the most. But then she was saddened. Her own children, the children of the sun, the Dragons, hadn't no place to be. They were still left to defend themselves from the humans and their narrow minded ways. He looks out the window, as he stands from the chair, his hands behind his back. 

They hunted us, you know. My father would tell me stories as a little lad about how the humans got notice of our existence and started to hunt us - not only the Dragons. That's initially why Selene, Monica, Ophelia and Keres decided to create Deam Mundi; they wanted their children to be in peace. He shakes his head, as if he is trying to get rid of the ghosts of the past. 

Solei created the Dragon lands, in the interest of us being able to communicate and trade with the other supernaturals. But as you know, most Dragons are… Have enough in their own species and their own lives. Well, anyway. I was there the day the Dragons moved to their new home, and I was there when the most powerful Dragon Oracle of all time made her last prediction. A stray tear slides down his cheek, and I can see this is causing him a lot of pain. 

Berion. If you want a break we... 

No, it's okay my dear. The Oracle was my mother, and the King of the West back then didn't know I was listening in. He killed her after she gave her prediction. Everyone gasps. 

The prophecy was about a girl born between a hybrid mother and a pure blooded father. She will wield the sacred fire, also called the hell fire, and she will be mated to the two heirs of the Dragon throne. Berion, then turns and sits down again. 

The woman is described throughout different scripts, called everything from the great savior to the hell fire Queen. She is even pictured in the scripts from the vampires, which I again thank you, Queen Abigail and King Matthew for providing me. They nod, as Berion provides everyone with a small copy of a portrait. It's in color, and when I look at it, my own reflection looks back at me. Blaze and Chase take my hand, feeling my heartbeat go up and my confusion rise. I keep looking at the picture, and then she moves. My eyes fly to the others, but none of them seems to have noticed anything out of the ordinary. Berion though keeps an eye on me, and when my eyes fly to everyone he smiles. 

'Did anything happen, my dear?' Berion asked in my mind, and my eyes widened. 

'How did you know?'

"That picture is enchanted. They all are, and they will move and relay a message to the chosen one. You need to focus on the picture again.' 

I look down at the picture again, and right enough the picture moves. She winks, and I make my eyes stay there even though this is freaking me out a bit. 

"Queen of Fire, you are finally here. I have waited so long for your arrival, and now I can relay my message to the rightful Queen of all the Dragons. You are the one who is meant to gather the entire population of Dragons under your reign. You are meant for greatness, but with that comes danger, lies and different paths to go down. You will soon have a choice to make, a choice that will define how your reign will fold out. Your mates are powerful, but you are the most powerful of all. Your wolf has the power to wield the fire from hell's realm, and you my dear are meant to be the light to the darkness. Only you can go up against the dark goddess. You are the answer to all the prayers our people have sent to the goddess over the years. She is the goddess of Sun, and therefore also fire. She is the Mother of all, and you are her Daughter. You need to reconcile yourself with her, and when that is done, you need to melt your powers with the Water Dragon. Only you can tip the scale to the win.' The woman disappears from the picture, and I can't believe what she just told me. I let my mates share my thoughts while I got the message from my picture self, and they were as confused and flabbergasted as me.

Berion smiles at everyone. 

It has been done, the Queen of Dragons is here and a new era is beginning. All hail Queen Amber! He kneels down, and the rest follows. Even my parents and my mates. My head feels red as a tomato, but inside Ignis is bursting with pride.

CHAPTER 159 Word from Home 

Amber's POV 

It's been a few days since our conversation with Berion, and everyone has been so sweet to give me some time to progress everything. It's been a lot, and I've used the majority of the time with my girls. Some will probably call it hiding, but I'm not. I just don't know how to face the others after what Berion said, and after the magical portrait. I'm glad I shared it with my mates at the time, because I am not sure I would have had the heart to tell them afterwards.  

After the meeting adjourned none of the other Royals, other than my mates and my parents would look me in the eyes. Some of them even avoid looking at me at all. I felt kind of weird, knowing they all heard what Berion said, and understood the underlying meaning in his words. I am supposed to take over the role of Queen of all the Dragons, and therefore make the current Royal line null and void. I don't want to make a new order of Royals, but no one knows that because no one has asked me what my thoughts are. 

Mama, look! Elina says, smiling as she shows off her latest work of art. She loves to sit down and do coloring with her crayons, or making jewelry with beads. Her favorite game these days is tea party with all her dolls and teddies. 

That is very pretty, baby. I tell her, looking at the very colorful and slightly crooked family portrait. We are all there; me, Chase, Blaze, Melody, Elina. We are all in different colors as well; I'm red, Blaze is blue, Melody and Elina are dark gray/light black and Chase. Chase is light gray/orange. 

Why did you color papa with orange and gray, darling? 

Because his light is both gray and orange, momma. I smile at her answer. So simple and straightforward. 

And my light is red? 

Yes, but your light is really bright. 

Thank you, baby. She wanders back to her table and I get lost in the drawing, having an ear on my girls playing. Elina is humming while drawing, as Melody is talking to her teddy while playing hair salon.  

I don't know how long I've been sitting here looking at the drawing, but when there is a knock on the door I almost drop the paper in pure shock. 

Come in. The door opens and my mother smiles. 

Can I come in? Or do you want to hide from me as well? 

I'm not hiding. 

Yes you are, and it is high time you stop. 

Mom, I really don't want to go into this with you. 

No, I get that after three days where I haven't been able to get in contact with you. I've asked your mate numerous times, but they always say to give you time. They've been great, you know. At doing all of the duties of BOTH King and Queen.
