About this ebook

My heart raced as Alaric spoke, excitement coursing through my entire body. I turned to look at Delilah, who was standing next to me. Our gazes met, and she gave me a cold stare.
"With you all as my witnesses, I present to you my Luna, Delilah Fairchild."
Wait! What? Delilah, not Daisy? What's going on here? Is this some kind of mistake?
Alaric avoided my gaze as I turned to look at him, seeking confirmation if what I heard was indeed true.
He then walked to the end of the stage where Delilah and I stood, reaching out to take Delilah's hands and help her onto the stage.
"I told you not to try too hard, sis. He has always been mine. Do you get it now?" Delilah whispered to me before she ascended the stage.

Rejected By My Mate, Chosen By The Lycan King - Luna Scribe

    CHAPTER 1 A Secret Relationship

    Daisy's POV

You look so beautiful in that dress, he whispered, his lips so close to mine that I could almost taste his breath. And I bet you'd look even better without it.

Alaric, I said, pausing slightly. Don't you think we're moving too fast? I want to save this moment for our wedding night.

Too fast? I am your mate, Daisy. We are destined to be together, he stated, his gaze never leaving mine. Don't you want me? Don't you want this?

I want this more than anything in the world, I replied softly.

The happiest day of my life was when I discovered that the famous Alaric Blackwood was my mate. It felt like a dream come true. I remember how overjoyed I was that night, but I couldn't share the news with anyone because Alaric wanted us to keep it a secret for the time being.

But I feel like we should do this the right way. Let's tell everyone that I am your mate, I continued.

I will, tomorrow, after my coronation as the Alpha of the Blackwood Pack. I will declare you as my Luna, Alaric assured me, his smile genuine.

Really? I asked, my voice tinged with surprise.

Yes, that's why I asked you to keep it a secret. I want the whole pack to see how beautiful my Luna is, he said, tracing his finger down my arm.

When Alaric asked me to keep our relationship a secret, I feared it was because he was ashamed to be seen with me.

Thank you so much, Alaric. I can't wait to stand by your side as your loving and supportive wife, I said, my voice shy yet tinged with confidence.

So... can we continue from where we stopped?

Standing there, my heart racing, I couldn't shake off a feeling of uncertainty. Deep down, I knew I wanted us to wait, to cherish that moment and make it truly special. Yet, with Alaric standing before me, his intense and unwavering gaze made my heart skip a beat. At that moment, I felt a rush of admiration and desire, tempered by a hint of doubt.

Was I ready for this? Was this the right time?

His words, soft yet filled with longing, echoed in my ears, You are special to me.

I felt a surge of warmth, a sense of being truly seen and appreciated. How could I deny him, this man who held my heart in his hands?

With a soft touch, he cupped my face, his thumb brushing gently against my cheek. I closed my eyes, letting myself be enveloped by his warmth and affection. In that embrace, I found peace and a sense of belonging that transcended words.

As our lips finally met, I felt a surge of emotions- passion, love, and a deep sense of connection. In that intimate moment, all doubts and fears melted away, leaving only the sweet sensation of being truly alive...

That night, on my way home, I was still immersed in the happiness of my time with Alaric, until a sudden voice startled me as I quietly sneaked into the house.

And where do you think you're coming from? I heard someone ask.

I closed the doors gently and turned to see Delilah standing with her arms crossed, waiting for my response.

How is that any of your business, Delilah? I retorted.

You think I don't know? I see how you've been sneaking out of the house every day, going only God knows where Daisy.

And like I said earlier, you have no right to question me about my whereabouts. I'm not in the mood for any drama with you today, I stated firmly.

A wicked smile curved at the corner of Delilah's lips as she stared intensely into my eyes. My mind began to race as she moved closer, prompting me to take two steps back away from her.

I could not believe Delilah and I were said to be twins because we both had different personalities.

Delilah, with her vibrant energy and bold spirit, stood in stark contrast to my calm and reserved nature. In the pack, she was a force to be reckoned with, her strength and outspokenness echoing through every interaction.

Her ambitious nature drove her to make a name for herself, she wasn't just the strongest female in the pack she was the youngest also, but I on the other hand didn't care for that, I was fine with being plain boring Daisy.

We grew up not knowing how we came to live in the Blackwood Pack since we were found on the outskirts of the pack. To some members of the pack, we were blessings from the Moon goddess while some think that we are a curse upon the pack.

For that reason, we were subjected to a life of rejection and isolation until the Blackwood family, took us in and raised us as one of their own, providing us shelter and people we can call family.

Will you tell me why you have been sneaking out like a slut, Delilah continued.

What did you just call me? I asked with a sharp tone.

You heard me right and I will say it again, You are always sneaking in and out of the house like a cheap slut, Delilah leaned forward and whispered into my ears while brushing her hands against my shoulder.

OK fine! You badly want to know? I have been meeting up with Alaric. He loves and adores me and yes to cut your curiosity short, Alaric and I are mates and I am going to be his Luna, I responded with a smirk on my face.

What?! Delilah exclaimed as her eyes widened in disbelief, her fists clenched together as she stood with her eyes burning with rage.

I wasn't surprised by her reaction because I knew how much she wanted to be the Luna of this pack.

Without giving her a chance to respond, I walked out on her, leaving her in the dark about the meaning behind my words.

Upon entering my room, I closed the door behind me and threw myself onto the bed.

My mind replayed the argument I'd just had with Delilah. My shoulders sagged, and my face felt pale, the hurt deepening as I thought about how close we used to be. We shared everything and loved each other deeply until we both found out we had a crush on the same man.

Life had never been the same since. Delilah had changed from the sweet, loving sister I once knew into someone willing to do anything to undermine me.

But I tried to put those thoughts aside because I had someone who adored and cherished me. Alaric has been a huge blessing in my life, I murmured to myself, pulling the covers over me.

Tomorrow is Alaric's Alpha coronation. How will he publicly declare me as his Luna?

    CHAPTER 2 &CHAPTER 3

    Daisy's POV

I declare you, Alaric Blackwood, as the new Alpha of the Blackwood Pack.

Delilah and I watched from the sidelines as Alaric was crowned Alpha. A wave of excitement consumed me, my heart pounding in anticipation of Alaric's announcement about us.

I couldn't wait to see the look on everyone's faces when he declared me as his mate and Luna. The plain boring Daisy they had all treated with spite would soon become the Luna of the pack.

I would like to give a speech, Alaric announced as he stepped forward.

Being crowned the Alpha comes with many great responsibilities. It's not just about leading the pack but standing as a shield and protector...

But to achieve this feat, one cannot do it alone; he needs the support of someone he can rely on when his shoulders become heavy. That is why I have decided to use this occasion to present my Luna to you all on such a momentous day, Alaric continued.

My heart raced as Alaric spoke, excitement coursing through my entire body. I turned to look at Delilah, who was standing next to me. Our gazes met, and she gave me a cold stare.

With you all as my witnesses, I present to you my Luna, Delilah Fairchild.

Wait! What? Delilah, not Daisy? What's going on here? Is this some kind of mistake?

Maybe it was a mistake. It has to be a mistake, I murmured to no one in particular as I stood frozen, watching my world crumble before my eyes.

Alaric avoided my gaze as I turned to look at him, seeking confirmation if what I heard was indeed true.

He then walked to the end of the stage where Delilah and I stood, reaching out to take Delilah's hands and help her onto the stage.

I told you not to try too hard, sis. He has always been mine. Do you get it now? Delilah whispered to me before she ascended the stage.

Something felt off. There was no way Alaric would betray me. He loves me, doesn't he? He wouldn't hurt me, right?

I present to you all, Delilah Fairchild, the one whom my heart has chosen to be my Luna, Alaric announced, holding onto Delilah's hands. She stood beside him, her face lit with a smile. Not a trace of surprise showed on her face; it was almost as if she had known he would choose her.

How could you do this to me! I blurted out, the words escaping before I could stop them.

All eyes suddenly turned to me as I approached the stage, tears streaming down my face.

How did it come to this? It has always been me, Alaric. What happened to the promises we made, to be together forever? I continued.

You must be mistaken, Daisy. I do not know what you are talking about. I never had anything to do with you, Alaric responded, his tone flat and dismissive.

I am your mate, Alaric! We are destined to be together, I protested, barely noticing the murmurs from the crowd.

Yes, and I have rejected you countless times. Are you that obsessed with me? Alaric retorted, his expression cold and convincing.

But since you are so adamant, I might as well make it public. I hereby reject you as my mate, Daisy Fairchild.

The pain of rejection overwhelmed me, nearly too intense to stand upright.

Tell me this is all a joke. You promised to make me your Luna... I whimpered.

The guests gasped as they stared at Alaric and me in shock. Their faces showed a mix of spite and disgust.

You must be delusional to think something could happen between us. I have just been crowned Alpha, and I need someone strong as my Luna. Why would I settle for someone weak like you?

I will let this slide because I cherish and adore your sister, and I would be glad if this incident were not repeated, Alaric replied boldly.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. My sister tends to be mistaken when overwhelmed. Please, enjoy the rest of the party while we handle this situation privately, Delilah said, addressing the guests with a smile.

Come with me, Delilah dragged me into the room.

What the hell do you think you are doing? she asked with a look of disgust on her face.

What do you mean... I am not lying... He-

He what? Force himself on you? Delilah cut in as she folded her hand over her chest.

No, but we had something, I replied looking more confused than ever.

We had nothing, Daisy, I heard his voice from behind, the person who I had loved more than anything.

Would you excuse us for a minute darling? Alaric asked turning to Delilah, she nodded with a smile before making her way out of the room.

What do you think you are doing, telling everyone that we had something, He began his voice louder than usual.

Those nights together, the stolen kisses, the promises, does all of it mean nothing to you? I asked unable to control the tears rolling down my eyes.

This was the reason why I picked Delilah over you, you are too weak for my liking, he replied immediately as though he was waiting all his life to tell me that.

Weak? Is that why he picked her? I might not be as strong as Delilah but I don't see myself as weak. Or am I truly weak?

You picked her because I was weak not because you don't love me? I asked, hoping that would be the case. Just maybe I might be able to convince him to take me back.

I can be strong for you Alaric, I said as I moved closer to him.

If that's what you want...I am willing to learn...please don't do this to me.

I mean how hard can it be, it took Delilah a few weeks of training to master the act of sword fight. I know I sound desperate right now but I can't help it, I am madly in love with this man.

You can stay, were the words that left his mouth, but I didn't understand what he meant by that.

You can remain in the Blackwood Pack not as my wife, but as my mistress. I am sure your sister won't mind.

    Chapter 3

    Daisy's POV

It wasn't just what Alaric said that made my blood boil but how he said it, it was clear that he sees us as nothing less than some object he could play with and toss around when he gets tired.

I can't believe I trusted this man, after everything he promised me, what on earth even made me think he would marry me and make me his Luna?

You are sick, you are a sick man, and I regret ever giving you my body! I said, anger boiling in my voice so intensely that the love I felt for him seemed to vanish in that instant.

You don't deserve me or my sister-

Stop acting all righteous, Daisy. We both know you don't give a damn about your sister! Alaric cut in sarcastically.

    That's not true-

Stop lying to yourself. You wouldn't mind throwing her under the bus just to have me.

The painful truth was that he wasn't wrong. I loved this man so much that I would choose him over my sister. I guess this is my karma.

I can't take this... There's nothing left for me here. My dream of becoming Alaric's Luna has just crashed, and there's no point in staying.

Maybe you're right, but that was before I knew the real you. In time, my sister will see that too, I replied as I attempted to walk past him, but he grabbed my hand from behind.

Where do you think you're going? Alaric whispered under his breath.

    Anywhere but here.

And what makes you think I would let you leave? he replied seriously.

I turned to face him, looking confused. He didn't want me as his Luna, yet he didn't want me to leave.

You don't have any right over me, Alaric. You can't stop me from leaving.

That's where you're wrong, Daisy. I am the Alpha of this pack, and everyone will do as I say, including you, he replied, his smile dubious.

His grip on my hand tightened.

Let me go, I said, struggling to break free.

Please let me go, I begged after failing to free myself.

Stop trying so hard, Daisy, Alaric said as he signaled to the guards at the door.

Take her to the guest room and keep her locked in until I return.

What do you think you are doing? Let me go! I cried out loudly as I was dragged from the room. What do you want from me?

I have a party to attend, Daisy. We'll talk about this later when you're calm, he replied.

I was still trying to break free when one of the guards hoisted me over his shoulder. At that moment, I felt utterly powerless and couldn't do anything to save myself.
