About this ebook
Island of Secrets 1.
The year is 1940 and WWII has been raging for one year, four children move from London with their parents to live in the Buckinghamshire countryside with their Grand Parents not far from Bletchley where their parents work.
Near the house is a lake with an Island and one day when they are playing they land to explore the Island and in doing so they find a cave with four tunnels, going along one of the tunnels they find they are looking into the future of London’s Regent Street.
Ed, the eldest of the children steps through the door and sees a young girl running toward him, he thought this a little weird as nobody else was taking any notice of him, the girl is calling for him to help her but Ed thinks he has been too long in the future and calls to the girl he will return tomorrow, which he does and rescues the girl named Zara who is from the future in the year 2080. She stays with them and becomes part of their family.
Together the five of them manage to find out how the machine work and they set the dates to try and get Zara back to her parents, who told her to hide as they were afraid a war was about to start.
They do manage to get Zara back to the year 2080 but all she finds is destruction and devastation and realises she may never get home again and returns with the four children.
They have a Project from school to write about the Hundred Year War, Agincourt so they travel to see what did happen in 25th of October 1415.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The four children sat on the edge of Bluebell Woods as they had done about 7 months before, but this time with the addition of Zara who they had rescued from 2011.Zara was actually from the year 2080 but had got caught up in her travels when her parents told her to hide as a very big war was about to happen, so Zara hid in the cave on the Island and unknowingly entered into 2011.It was now beginning to get colder and Nan had made them all wrap up in warm clothing, as they looked over the countryside they remembered how it had been 7 months before, fields with Yellow and Blue flowers, cows and sheep grazing in the pastures.Skylarks searching for food for their young overhead in clear blue skies, the trees with all colours of green and some with beautiful flowers, the long hedgerows with rabbits running out into the fields, Hares boxing each other to see who had won the females attention. Now it was dull and many clouds were in the sky making it look dark, now and again some sunlight did break through an opening in the sky and cast a shaft of light onto the ground and tree’s. The leaves seemed to shine in different colours of brown, red, orange and yellow as they began to die and fall.In the far distance they could see some old very tall trees which had already lost their leaves the Rooks were beginning to build their nest of twigs in the high branches, making their ‘Caw, caw’ noise, the nest looked so frail as if they would fall out of the trees at any second.Over to the right they could see the lake and their Secret Island they wanted so much to go and have a look at how things were there.
