    Readers find this title to be a great historical romance centered around a real couple of US history. The story is intriguing and gripping, with a good representation of colonial times. It combines mystery and romance, and the characters come alive as the plot unfolds. Some readers love Jody's books and enjoy listening to her audiobooks. However, one reader couldn't get over the voice of the author. Overall, it is a highly recommended historical fiction story.

      Again, Jody Hedlund lands a great historical romance centered loosely around a real couple of US history. I appreciate her ability to write intriguing stories that grip the heart of the reader.

      A great combination of mystery and romance. The characters came alive as the plot unfolded. The storyline showed the struggles of people in that time frame.

      Good story. I really liked that it was based on a true couple (John and Abigail Adams). It was a good representation of colonial times.

      I love Jody’s books! Huge fan of listening to her audiobooks. However, Listed to about 2 chapters and couldn’t get over the voice of the author. The story seems interesting but I can’t take the constant breathiness.
