It's the craziest most wonderful time of the year... right??? Amidst all of the hustle and bustle I hope you are having some moments here and there to slow down and take in the wonders and small delights of the season. Today I'm happy to be sharing this year's Christmas Dining Room and Christmas tablescape with you. As usual, there's no lack of color or pattern!
I love adding pink poinsettias to my Christmas table, I somehow missed the medium size that I like this year and could only find one, so I filled up the rest of the center with loads of tabletop trees- I made the green ones and a friend was giving away the gold ones- love! The others are a variety that I've collected over the years.
I always add some ornaments to the teacups inside my China Cabinet, but this year I decked out the top, too! The large "bows" on the brass ginger jars are more of the satin table runners (I bunch them up just like a ribbon bow and tie the middle with a pipe cleaner or floral wire).
These hot pink ones were particularly good and stiff fabric to make great bows.
These gorgeous chinoiserie monogrammed napkins from Threads and Honey were my inspiration for the table. I had them customized with just the colors I knew would fit it with all of my favorite things and they couldn’t be more lovely! The owner is so sweet and accommodating and I highly recommend this small business for unique, custom monogrammed textiles. They have some special pieces for weddings and cute pet embroidery too! Thank you Allison for adding your beautiful work to my table!
For the base of the centerpiece, I kept the same green fabric that I used on
my Thanksgiving table and layered the cutest pink and red bow wrapping paper from TJ Maxx on top. You'll see some of that on the gifts under my tree, too!
In addition to doing a little extra on top of the china cabinet this year, I added a lot more ornaments to the chandelier. I wish I could leave it like this all year- ha! I've found a lot of the old glass solid colored ones at thrift stores and the patterened ones are a mix of vintage and newer.
I usually get questions about big centerpieces... we serve buffet style in the kitchen and if there is anything obtrusive for seeing those around the table while seated I just move it off during the meal.
I've seen several people I follow on Instagram share this candy cane bow. Kenzi
and I tried making them… not as quick and easy as they appear but we had fun doing it! The mini candy canes were easier, I thought they would be so cute glued on napkin rings but for this table I liked the bigger candy canes better. They tended to break more though and were harder to work with... here's a link with instructions if you want to try. It took several rounds in and out of the oven for us before they were finished.
I hope you enjoyed taking a look around our Christmas Dining Room today, I'm looking forward to having people gathered around soon! Thanks for much for being here with me virtually. 💚💝💚
