This is truly my new favourite statement, I do have a few though. Another favourite is "A year from now you will wish that you started a year ago!" That is definitely an important one. But the ordinary comment comes from some new papers that arrived on my desk and I immediately loved that statement and knew that I had to do something with it. I have been saying that comment to the new children that I am now a Mum too, as I am determined to inspire them to be better. So, I have a few items sitting in the cupboard for off the page projects and I found this garlic bread slicer thing, seems like a stupid idea I might add in its original form, but it worked perfectly for this layout.
I white gessoed it first and then got out some Ranger Perfect Pearls and painted it blue and then I did a bit of a same coloured distress oxide and played with that a little, but ended up putting some texture paste lightly over the top. I then put a brick wall pattern into the Silhouette machine and cut that out and embossed it in orange. Using an Altair Art paper with white and yellow checker pattern, I laid that down in the background before putting on the brick background. I also cut out the words for use out of some chipboard and embossed them in blue glitter.
My swirl at the top embossed in gold is from ScrapFX I think! I decorated the rest with flowers from and bits from my stash, plus used various AltairArt elements from various paper sets. The butterflies are the perfect finishing touch and it now hangs in the kitchen for all to see and take notice of. Do you have a favourite statement you would like to share, I would love to know.
Thanks for stopping by. Delia
